Determined to redeem himself, Beau eagerly jumped into the sack. Niamh followed, standing behind him.
“Harvey, hurry up and get in!” she called impatiently.
but be
The moment Harvey stepped inside, Niamh pressed herself against him, but he immediately frowned. She had miscalculated his reaction indeed.
Turning to him, she explained, “Harvey, we need to stick closer! That way, we can coordinate our jumps better.”
As she spoke, she reached for his hand. “Put your arms forward and hold onto the sack.”
If he did as she said, his arm would naturally rest around her waist, as if he were holding her. The thought sent a shiver of excitement through her.
This parent–child event was the perfect excuse to get physically close to Harvey in public, proving to Elara and the other wealthy families just how intimate their relationship was. This was the only reason why she even agreed to join this event.
But when she reached for his hand, she grasped nothing but air. A second later, Harvey shoved her back forcefully, stepping out of the sack in one swift motion to escape the uncomfortable situation
Thrown off balance, Niamh stumbled sideways, barely catching herself with one hand before she hit the ground. Though she avoided a complete fall, her face twisted in frustration.
“Harvey, what the hell are you doing?” she huffed while glaring at him. He had no sense of chivalry at all.
That was when she noticed that Harvey wasn’t looking at her, his eyes were locked on Elara.
Finnegan had stepped into the sack first, and his large frame nearly filled the space. Elara followed, standing directly across from him.
Then Merida squeezed in between them like a little sandwich. This was to ensure that, as the smallest, she wouldn’t slow them down
Elara gripped the back edge of the sack while Finnegan lifted the front, the two of them working seamlessly together to keep the bag taut.
Harvey’s chest tightened. From where he stood, it looked as if Elara was leaning intimately into Finnegan’s chest while her arms rested around his waist. It was almost as if she were embracing him. He had never seen Elara this close to another man before.
Seeing how Elara’s group positioned themselves, Rosalie turned to Harold and said, “Let’s do it like them.” “Harvey, the race is about to start! Where are you going?” Namh called out, realizing Harvey was walking away. While all the parents stood at the starting line, ready for the kangaroo race, Harvey made his way to the referee.
“This game needs to be canceled,” he stated firmly.
The referee looked baffled. “Mr. Fisher, why? This is just a standard event in parent–child activities.”
Trying to reason with him, the referee added, “If you have concerns about safety, just make sure Beau stays in the middle. That way, you can protect him.”
With one hand in his pocket, Harvey pointed straight toward Elara’s direction. “You’re making two unrelated adults publicly hold each other like this, and you call it a standard game?
“Merida is my daughter. How can she stand there and watch her mother clinging to another man?”

The referee was at a loss. “Mr. Fisher, are you talking about yourself? You don’t want to participate with Ms. Niamh, is that it?”
Harvey’s voice turned commanding. “As a board member, lemand you either cancel this ridiculous game make it exclusive to married couples. If they’re not married, they should be disqualified.”
Or
The referee was at a loss. Although he didn’t fully understand Harvey’s reasoning, the authority of a board member was not something to ignore. “But among all the families here, only you and Ms. Niamh aren’t married.
So…”
Before he could finish, he saw Harvey was already storming toward Elara
“Elara Jones! Get out of there!”
Harvey’s blood boiled at the sight of her standing face–to–face with Finnegan in the sack. Did she even consider how Merida would feel about this?
Elara found Harvey’s sudden outburst ridiculous. She turned to the referee who was about to blow the whistle and said, “Just Ignore him.”
Over 20 families stood ready at the starting line. The teacher in charge of the whistle tensed as Harvey approached. Though uncertain of his intentions, he still blew the whistle,
The kangaroo race began, and Harvey could only watch as Bara, Finnegan, and Merida bounced forward together, “Harvey! What are you doing? Get back here!” Niamh shouted, her voice filled with frustration
Harvey ignored her completely as his gaze was fixed on Elara Step by step, she and Finnegan hopped farther away. Were they deliberately doing this just to provoke him?
Facing each other with Merida between them, Elara and Finnegan jumped in sync. Every time they landed, a pulse throbbed at Harvey’s temple.
“Ah!” A sudden cry broke through the laughter and chaos.
d lost her balance and tumbled to the ground, dragging Harold down with her. He even landed directly
of her.
All along the track, more families stumbled and fell, some rolling together as bursts of laughter echoed under the open sky.
Harvey could feel the veins in his temples bulging. This school was insane! Who came up with such a ridiculous, indecent game?
“Ah! Uncle Finn!” Merida’s startled cry rang out.
Harvey’s heart clenched violently as his eyes snapped toward Elara and Finnegan
