Chapter 190
After that, Niamh had Beau lure Xavier over.

Xavier was already struggling with autism and had been undergoing psychological therapy. Today was a rare breakthrough as he had finally taken a step forward, willingly venturing outdoors to participate in activities with other children and parents.
But if something happened to him today, it would be enough to scare him into never setting foot outside again. A Xavier too terrified to leave his home would no longer be a threat to Beau’s status in the Fishers.
Niamh glanced downward and saw Elara beginning to climb up with Xavier. Her fingers then curled around a nearby rock.
“Niamh, what are you doing?” Beau’s voice trembled with alarm.
Elara looked up and saw Niamh sneering at her with cold, malicious intent. She had already fallen–did Niamh really need to kick her while she was down?
Niamh raised the rock and hurled it straight at Elara’s head. Elara swiftly dodged with Xavier in her arms. She caught a glimpse of a clearing hidden beneath the dense shrubbery down the slope. She let herself drop into the undergrowth without hesitation, shielding Xavier as they fell.
A sharp rustling sound broke through the air, then silence. The bushes settled as if nothing had happened. “No!” Beau stumbled forward, his wide eyes filled with panic. His small hands instinctively reached out, grasping at nothing
He had just watched Elara and Xavier plummet, and the sight shook him to his core.
His entire body trembled, his lips quivering as he stammered, “Niamh, why did you do that? Y–You… You killed someone!”
A cold chill ran through Beau’s limbs, and his mind went blank with shock. Niamh had told him this was just a prank, something they were doing to give Xavier a scare.
If they frightened Xavier badly enough, he would never dare to appear near Merida or his pretentious mother again.
“Beau, you saw it too. Elara took Xavier and rolled down herself!”
“But you…” Beau’s throat tightened as if a blade had lodged itself there, stealing his breath. Swallowing became difficult, and forming words felt impossible.
It was as if an invisible hand was pulling him downward, dragging him into an abyss. His wide eyes shimmered with unshed tears.
Niamh pressed on, “Beau, have you thought about what will happen if the doctors arrive and only save her, me?”
he was unsure of what to say.
Beau was caught off guard, and he
Niamh continued pitifully, “The medical center at the camp only has one bed. If they give that bed to Elara and Xavier, then what about me?”
“I won’t let the doctors ignore you!” Beau blurted.
Niamh shook her head. “The moment the doctors see Elara, she’ll be their first priority. They’ll rush to save her

and forget about me.
“I just want to make sure they don’t notice Elara first. Your mommy will be fine. We’ll have the doctors go to her later, okay?”
Beau nodded his small head hesitantly, as if trying to convince himself. Niamh was his dad’s best friend. Everything she said had to be right.
“Okay!” He quickly used his smartwatch to call his teacher
“Ms. Jenkins, Niamh twisted her ankle! Hurry and call a doctor to help her!”
After giving Bridget a rough idea of their location, Beau ended the call. His gaze drifted to the dense shrubbery behind Niamh while his heart pounded wildly in his chest. His little face remained tense, unable to relax.
Niamh was the person most important to his father. So, prioritizing her first wasn’t wrong, was it?
