Chapter 192
Once Niamh was sent to the medical room, Bean planned to tell his dad that his pretentious mother was still at the bottom of the slope.
Unwilling to argue with an injured person, Bridget simply said, “Ms. Jones, the school will conduct a proper investigation into your fall.”
“You really think I’m lying, don’t you?” Niamh sat up and slapped Bridget across the face without warning.
Bridget, who was crouched beside her, was completely stunned. She gaped at Niamh in shock. This woman had absolutely no class!
“Niamh!” Harvey’s voice came low and sharp.
Sitting on the ground, Niamh tilted her head back and snapped. “Why are you yelling at me? Do you not see me as your brother anymore?”
Bridget opened her mouth, but she immediately shut it again after hearing, Niamh’s absurd words. There was no point arguing with an idiot–idiots were experts at dragging others down to their level.
Fuming, Niamh punched Harvey’s leg. “Your best friend is being falsely accused here, and you’re just standing there doing nothing?”
Harvey’s gaze darkened as he noticed the fresh red marks around her neck. “What happened to your neck?”
Niamh felt the sharp, stinging pain circling her throat. She wanted to complain to Harvey, to tell him Elara had done this to her. If she did, Harvey would undoubtedly punish Elara for her.
But at this moment, she needed to hide any trace of Elara’s existence from everyone. Ever since Elara and that mute kid had fallen into the bushes, there had been complete silence. The chances of them making it out alive were slim.
The thought made Niamh lower her head as she hid the smirk creeping into her eyes. With Xavier gone, Leonard would be dealt a heavy blow, giving Harvey more leverage within the Fishers. It also eliminated a future competitor for her and Harvey’s future child.
And if Elara was out of the picture, so was her brilliance. Niamh never wanted to see her own sister shine brighter. than her ever again.
“When I fell, my scarf got caught on a tree branch and strangled me. I’m still short of breath,” Niamh said while breaking into a fit of coughs.
She put on a pitiful expression and reached out, hoping Harvey would carry her. Harvey’s face remained cold, and his brows were tightly furrowed.
As he crouched down, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from behind him. Turning around, he saw over a dozen men in park staff uniforms sprinting in their direction.

Harvey narrowed his sharp eyes. One glance was enough for him to tell that these men weren’t ordinary employees. They moved with discipline and were trained. They looked more like plainclothes security officers.
If security personnel were showing up here, there was only one explanation. Xavier had attended the outdoor event, and Leonard had assigned a security team to protect him.
For them to be moving together like this… could it mean Xavier was in danger?
Trailing right behind them was Finnegan. He had been in the camp setting up tents when he noticed the plainclothes officers suddenly breaking cover and mobilizing in unison,

His first thought was that something had happened to Xavier. And Xavier was with Elara.
Finnegan immediately tried calling Elara, but she didn’t pick up. Without hesitation, he entrusted Merida to the camp’s teachers and followed the security officers.
Meanwhile, Bridget assumed these men were simply park employees. “Ms. Jones is fine now. She accidentally fell in a restricted area earlier.”
However, the security team didn’t even glance at Niamh. They walked past her without a second of hesitation.
The leader of the group pulled out his phone checked a coordinate on the screen, and announced, “He should be right below!”
Niamh and Beau’s hearts nearly stopped. They were here for Xavier!
“There’s no one down there!” Beau blurted out.
