Chapter 212
Lesley met Theodore’s dagger–like gaze, and her heart trembled a few times. Who was this guy? He looked a little Iammiliar.
She had just gotten off the plane–why did it feel like she had already run into an enemy? Meanwhile, Merida effortlessly pushed the luggage cart, racing across the smooth tile floor.
Startled by Theodore’s stare, Lesley instinctively hid behind Elara. She had always been shy around strangers, disliked physical contact, and was particularly uncomfortable under the scrutiny of men.
After cutting her hair short and adopting a more androgynous style, she had rarely drawn the attention of the opposite sex. Even when people did look at her, it was usually because of her striking features, and their gazes were more admiring than intrusive.
Finnegan greeted her with a nod and said in an indifferent tone, “Long time no see.”
Lesley nodded back, considering that enough of a greeting. To her, Elara’s older brother wasn’t particularly memorable–aside from being absurdly tall and broad–chested.
Elara introduced them to each other. “This is Theodore Snapp, the owner of the Moonchaser Racing Club.”
Lesley was visibly surprised. She leaned in close, whispering into Elara’s ear, “I always thought Moonchaser’s owner was some old fart.”
Theodore nearly shattered his molars from clenching his jaw! This little pretty thing had some nerve to whisper in Elara’s ear right in front of him.
Was he trying to assert dominance?
Theodore’s icy gaze bored into Lesley as he extended a hand. He said in a cold voice. “Nice to meet you.

Lesley kept her arm firmly looped around Elara’s, making no move to shake his hand. She simply nodded at him. Theodore’s dark eyes froze over like a thickly iced lake at her response.
Sensing the tension, Elara explained, “Lesley is shy around strangers. She’s not used to physical contact with men.
Before Elara could finish speaking, Theodore’s overwhelming hostility made Lesley shrink back, instinctively hiding behind Elara. Her arms naturally wrapped around Elara’s slender waist.
Holding Elara like this gave Lesley a strong sense of security, yet the ice in Theodore’s eyes instantly shattered! He suddenly had the urge to consult a friend with a history of homicide–should he chop off the pretty brat’s left hand or the right one first?
Not to mention, Elara wasn’t resisting Lesley’s intimate touch at all. So, this was the type of man Elara liked!
Theodore took a deep breath. He muttered to himself, “It seems my side piece fate is sealed. My deepest condolences to myself!”
She liked a helpless little puppy, huh? Acting weak, pitiful, and in need of protection just to trigger Elara’s nurturing instincts?
Theodore started recalculating his chances of climbing to the top.
Meanwhile, Lesley noticed the hostility and disdain in Theodore’s eyes suddenly shift–like a bubbling spring welling up with something even more devious.

“I see now. No wonder Mr. Lampone looks like he hasn’t ever been weaned yet. May I ask which hotel you’re staying at? I’d be happy to arrange for a few female bodyguards to personally look after you.”
Elara and Lesley both frowned in confusion when they heard Theodore call her “Mr. Lupone“.
With arms crossed over his chest, Finnegan lowered his heal, trying to suppress his laughter. He casually informed Theodore, “Lesley isn’t staying at a hotel, but at Bara’s place.‘
Dark energy practically poured from Theodore’s body. He was on the verge of full–blown corruption. “Elara’s place only has two bedrooms.”
Then, with a fake smile plastered on his face, he added, “Well, I suppose Merida will have to make do. Considering Mr. Lupone’s height, he should fit perfectly on the children’s bed.”
Elara blurted out, “Lesley’s sleeping with me.”
Finnegan naturally delivered the final blow. “Elara has a king–size bed. Lesley has always slept with her anyway. What are you getting all worked up for, Mr. Snapp?”
