Theodore felt a chill spread through his entire body, his hands and feet turning cold as blood rushed to his head.
Was the world really this unfair?
Elara’s bed was big enough, so why couldn’t it fit a third person? His throat tightened, and his Adam’s apple bobbed painfully.
Elara noticed that Theodore’s eyes were red. “Mr. Snapp, what’s wrong?”
The man shook his head, his voice damp with emotion. “Nothing… As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.
A series of question marks popped up over Elara’s head.
Lesley’s arms tightened around Elara’s waist, and she rested her chin on Elara’s shoulder, whispering, “He’s acting really weird!”
Theodore’s fists clenched tightly. He had never suffered such humiliation before!
That little lap dog was taking full advantage of Elara’s affection, and he was twisting the knife deeper at every opportunity!
Just as Theodore was about to snap back, Elara gently cupped Lesley’s face and said affectionately, “Let’s go home first. You just got off a ten–hour flight, so you must be exhausted. Once we get back, take a nice bath and get some good sleep.
Theodore could feel thunder striking at him. He looked like a drenched puppy that had been kicked into a puddle. If he had ears on top of his head, they would have drooped miserably by now.
“Fine… Fine! Go ahead and dote on Lesley,” he thought to himself.
She should just leave him to crawl back into the shadows, licking his wounds, stewing in jealousy until he went mad while twisting and writhing like a worm!
Dark energy practically radiated from Theodore, so much so that Lesley instinctively pressed herself and Elara even closer together.
“Mhm!” She nuzzled against Elara’s wool coat, rubbing against her a few more times.
Even after five years apart, their bond was just as strong. It was as if they had never been separated. With Elara beside her, Lesley finally felt like the emptiness in her heart from the past five years had been completely filled.
“Wait, isn’t that Lesley Lupone?”
“She was on our flight. How did you not notice?”
Not far from the arrivals hall, a group of foreigners stood with large luggage carts piled high with suitcases. They had been watching Lesley for a while, their gazes filled with curiosity as they observed the way Lesley held Elara
In her arms.
After all, they had never seen Lesley this close to anyone before. Meanwhile, Harvey’s subordinate, Cyrus, stood among them.
Following their line of sight, Cyrus turned to look–only to be startled when he saw Elara being embraced by a ”
man“.
Standing in front of Elara were Theodore and Finnegan, butneither of them seemed particularly surprised by the

young man holding her.
Was this guy one of Elara’s relatives?
Cyrus quickly pulled out his phone, texting Harvey while asking, “Do you know that gentleman?”
The foreigners chuckled when they realized Cyrus had misunderstood. They then referred to Lesley using a masculine title. “That’s Mr. Lesley Lapone, Lama’s navigater.”
Cyrus was taken aback. Harvey’s ex–wife was this close with the famous Lesley Lupone? He recalled that Lesley had always been abroad–so how on earth did Elara and Lesley know each other?
But since he had come across Lesley, Cyrus decided to approach. “Apologies for the interruption, Ms. Jones.”
The moment Harvey’s subordinate appeared, a heavy pressure radiated from Finnegan. Cyrus flinched. If not for Lesley, he wouldn’t have dared to approach them.
Lesley turned her head and frowned as she spotted the people standing behind Cyrus. Elara also recognized them. The foreigners were all former engineers and mechanics from Moonchaser Racing Club.
She looked at Lesley and asked, “Did Vincent and the others come to Eucon with you?”
Lesley shook her head. “They…”
Before she could finish, Cyrus interjected, “Ms. Jones, please don’t misunderstand. I’m actually here for Lesley‘ Finnegan, who was clearly impatient, snapped at him. “Spit it out already!”
Cyrus pursed his lips, then adjusted his posture before addressing Lesley with noticeably more respect.
“Mr. Lupone, nice to meet you. I’m Cyrus Oakes, the executive secretary of Fisher Corp. Our HR department has attempted to contact you multiple times, but we’ve never been able to reach you. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you today. I’d like to ask if you might be interested in…”
