Chapter 216
Harvey had thought Luna was deliberately toying with him. He had seen plenty of women play this kind of hard–to -get game.
But even after he put up the race cars Lama supposedly wanted for auction, she never showed up. That made him wonder–was the race at Mount Clockwork just a high–speed fantasy he had conjured up?
And now, Luna was about to reappear. Harvey sent a volce message to Cyrus, “Keep a close eye on Luna the moment she shows up at the International Racing Championship!‘
A powerful urge surged inside him he had to remove Lana’s helmet. He had to see her real face.
The sleek black Corona hugged the road, speeding along effortlessly. Lesley sat in the passenger seat, turning to look at Elara behind the wheel as her face glowed with happiness.
It felt as if they had traveled back in time to five years ago, or maybe even further.
Despite their five–year separation, there wasn’t even a hint of awkwardness between them. The moment they reunited, it was as if they had never been apart.
“The turbo’s making some noise. I’m pulling an all–nighter in the garage tonight!”
Elara responded without hesitation. “Alright, I’ll stay with you.”
With Elara by her side, Lesley suddenly felt chattier. “So, is it because I’m back that you decided to enter the exhibition race?”
Elara kept her sharp gaze fixed on the road, “Lesley, I believe it’s never too late to start again. And the first person I wanted to share this decision with was you‘
Lesley’s ears burned at her words. “Are you saying you’re stepping back into professional racing?”
“Yeah.”
“Elara gripped the steering wheel tightly.
“This time, I’m not hiding behind the codename Luna anymore. I want the whole world to know that Luna’s real name is Elara Jones!”
Finnegan drove the off–road vehicle with Theodore and Merida seated in the back. Theodore rested his hands on the backs of the driver and passenger seats, his gaze locked onto the Corona that was weaving through traffic ahead.
“Step on it! Keep up! Lt. Lloyd, my wife and her lover are in that car!”
A vein throbbed beneath the skin at Finnegan’s temple. “Do you want me to throw you out of the window?” Finnegan was furious. After all, Merida was sitting right next to Theodore! “Watch your mouth in front of Merida!
Theodore turned to Merida and asked, “Does your mommy really like Lesley?”
“Yes!” Merida gave him an absolutely certain answer. “I like Lesley a lot too!”
Theodore’s handsome face looked even paler under the sunlight. He curled his lips into a shattered smile and let out a brittle laugh.
“Since you all love Lesley so much, how could I bear to break you apart? Let me just join you instead!”

“Theodore Snapp!” Finnegan erupted with a furious rouar.
Theodore shot him a frosty glance. “Tsk! Elara’s bed is only six feet wide. Three people on it is already too much. There’s no room for you, so give up.‘
The steering wheel nearly deformed under the force of Finnegan’s grip. For the sake of Merida’s mental well being, he swallowed the surge of blood rising in his throat and forced himself to hold it together.
Meanwhile, the Corona pulled into an upscale residential area in Capitol. Lesley stepped out of the passenger seat and took the suitcase from Finnegan’s hand.
“I can carry it up myself,” she said.
Before she could finish speaking, Theodore blocked her path. Lesley didn’t dare meet his gaze.
The moment he stood in front of her, it felt as if a deep freezer had been opened. There was through her skin, freezing her to the core.

“Lesley Lupone!” Theodore’s tone was laced with danger as he said, “You’d better sleep with your eyes open.
