Chapter 240
There had been countless times when he fell, and Elara would always rush over to pick him up without hesitation. Now, as Bean turned and was expecting to see her, his crying came to an abrupt stop when he realized the person behind him was Niamli
Niamh wiped the tears from his face. “Dean, don’t be sad take you for a ride on my bike. We don’t need to care about those people!”
Beau sniffled and nodded. “Niamh, you treat me the best.”
Niamh grinned. “Of course! I’m your second dad! If I don’t treat you well, who will? Let’s go!”
She took Beau’s hand and led him to the parking lot, where she placed a helmet on his head before starting her motorcycle. The powerful machine, like a steel beast, roared to life.
Just as they were about to exit the parking lot, a group of police officers appeared, heading straight for Niamh Recognizing her by her racing suit, one of them immediately pulled out his badge.
“Niamh Jones! Stop the vehicle!”
However, Niamh slammed the throttle down to the max! The black heavy–duty motorcycle shot out of the parking lot!
“Niamh, where are you going?
“Niamh!”
As soon as the officers saw her speed away, they grabbed their radios and relayed the alert.
“We need backup! A female suspect involved in a public safety incident is fleeing on a motorcycle!–
“Attention, all units! Set up a roadblock on Riverfront Avenue immediately to intercept a black heavy motorcycle license plate A29898!”
With Beau gone, the reporters swarmed around Elara once again. Meanwhile, Elara noticed several police officers entering the racetrack, speaking with some of the racers.
Harvey followed her gaze, only to see Theodore striding toward them. His tall, upright frame was like a towering pine tree.
The wind swept past, lifting the hem of his coat and tousling his hair slightly. The faint smirk at the corner of his thin lips carried an untamed, almost reckless arrogance.
Behind Theodore followed Rupert the mechanic. His hands were clasped in front of him, covered by a jacket. Trailing him were two police officers.
It was obvious that beneath the jacket, Rupert’s hands were shackled. One of the officers stepped forward and presented his credentials to Harvey. The presence of the police sent the reporters into a frenzy, swarming toward them like flies drawn to blood.
The officer spoke, “Mr. Fisher, your son was taken away by Niamh. We need your cooperation in contacting her.”
A layer of icy tension settled between Harvey’s brows as he asked, “Has Niamh committed a crime?”
The officer turned to the racers standing nearby.
“She instructed someone to plant insects inside several racers‘ helmets in an attempt to interfere with the competition

“Additionally, according to evidence provided by Mr. Snapp and our investigation, Niamh bribed a pit mechanic to tamper with Corona’s hood, causing it to loosen during the race…”
Harvey felt a surge of irritation. Niamh was born to cause trouble! If it weren’t for Dawn’s final request that he take care of Niamh, he wouldn’t have wasted his energy repeatedly cleaning up her messes.
Before the officer could finish, Harvey cut in. “Niamli’s actions didn’t result in any serious consequences.”
The officer took a deep breath. “But now, she’s resisting police investigation. She took your son and fled on a motorcycle!”
Harvey raised a hand, signaling for the officer to stop talking; and listen. He then pulled out his phone and called Cyrus,
“Come over.”
His tone was cold and commanding, Theodore instantly understood how Harvey planned to handle Niamh’s mess. “So, you’re sending your secretary to negotiate compensation with the affected racers.”
