Harvey didn’t look at Theodore. Instead, his proud gaze fell directly on Elara. “I’ll cover Corona’s repair costs.”
To him, anything that could be solved with money wasn’t a real problem.
Elara looked at him and asked, “She’s taken a five–year–old child on a heavy motorcycle multiple times. Have your never been concerned about that?”
The man frowned. “And in what capacity are you questioning me about my son?”
Elara let out a cold laugh.
Harvey continued, “Beau ran off after you scolded him, and the only one who went after him to comfort him was Niamh. I trust her driving skills.”
His tone grew even more indifferent as he added, “But as for you, whenever something happens, you have to escalate it to the highest level.
“You’d call the police and make it seem like the whole world owes you something. Is that the only joy?”

Just as Elara was about to respond, a sudden wave of dizziness hit her like an invisible force crashing into her body. Her limbs tensed into spasms, her mind went blank, and a sharp ringing in her ears drowned out the concerned voices around her.
Lesley rushed forward, grabbing Elara’s arm and letting her lean against her for support. Theodore’s expression darkened slightly. He glanced at Lesley, and the emotion in his eyes grew colder and more unreadable.
Then, he turned to Harvey, noticing the unnatural stiffness in the man’s face. Finnegan also stepped up beside Elara, and his concern for her was blatantly obvious.
“Elara! Are you okay?
Elara slowly regained her composure as Lesley held her, only then realizing she had instinctively clutched her
chest.
She shook her head at Lesley. “I’m fine. It was probably just the strain from the race.”
The sky was clear, and the sunlight was bright. Yet, an unshakable sense of unease crept over her.
The motorcycle roared down the highway as Beau clung to Niamh’s waist, sniffing back the snot that threatened to drip into his mouth.
Niamh planned to take Beau back to the Fisher residence first. She had taken him for one reason only, which was to make Harvey see just how attached Beau was to her.
If only for his son’s sake, Harvey would have no choice but to handle the police situation for her. Suddenly, a few moths flew straight toward her, landing on her helmet.
What the hell! The road was wide open–how had these bugs managed to land right on her helmet?
She shook her head vigorously to shake them off, but when she looked forward again, a row of barricades was right in front of her. She instinctively tried to swerve, but as she twisted the handlebars, the entire motorcycle spun out of control!
The heavy bike skidded sideways, throwing Niamh off. Meanwhile, Beau was flung from the motorcycle, his small
body tracing an are through the air before crashing down led to a greenbelt,

His limbs bent into unnatural angles. Niamh hit the ground hard, and her entire body felt like it was about to fall
apart.
Luckily, she was wearing her racing sult. The Impact–resistant padding inside cushioned her fall and shielded her body from serious Injury.
“Ack!”
Despite the protection, pali shot through her body. She holed in agony as she was lying on the ground, and she then noticed several traffic officers rushing past her.
She turned her head and saw them all gathering around Bea
“Call an ambulance! Now!”
Niamh flipped over and scrambled toward lilm, crawling of all fours.
“Beaul Are you okay?”
There was no response. Panie seized her instantly. Her face turned deathly pale that even her lips lost all color.
“Beau, don’t scare me!”
