Chapter 242
Benjamin picked up his phone again. There was a playful smirk tugging at his lips.
“Dad, the Jones family’s reputation is safe. Your daughter won the race, and everyone here is chanting her name.”
Abel immediately asked, “Didn’t you just say Niamh finished dead last?”
Benjamin’s smirk widened. “It was your other daughter who took first place.”
“What are you talking about? What other daughter?” Abel blurted out.
Benjamin blinked lazily. “Elara”
Abel scoffed in disbelief. “Elara? She doesn’t even know how to race! You must be mistaken!”
Benjamin shrugged innocently. “It’s true. Eucon’s number one female racer, Lana, is Elara.“,
“What? Luna is my daughter?”
Of course, Abel knew who Luna was–who didn’t?
When Luna placed in the top ten of an international racing event, she shattered national records. After all, the racing industry in their country had started late, and there had been almost no female racers.
Every time Luna competed, she made history. Even though Abel had never paid much attention to professional racing, it was impossible to avoid seeing her name plastered across newspaper headlines and online news alerts.
“I remember five years ago, Luna’s car–something with ‘Coro‘ in the name–sold for tens of millions. It broke the highest auction record of the year!”
As he spoke, his irritation flared up again. “That daughter of mine is ungrateful! She sold her car for a fortune and kept it from me the entire time!”
Benjamin wasn’t listening anymore. His attention had shifted to the growing number of security personnel gathering inside the venue.
Just then, one of Niamh’s old buddies, Harper, walked over
“I just asked around. Niamh lost her damn mind. She planted insects in several racers‘ helmets and tampered with Corona’s hood.
“The evidence is solid. The police are coming to arrest her!”
The other rich heirs exchanged stunned glances.
“Has she gone insane?”
“Only Niamh could pull off something this stupid!”
Benjamin held up his phone and spoke into it again, “Dad, did you hear that? Your daughter is about to get arrested.”
The officer’s phone rang. He answered, listening as his colleague reported the latest update. After ending the call, he walked straight toward Harvey.
Harvey was still locked in a standoff with Elara

“All the other racers have already signed the settlement agreement! Elara, I’m offering you ten million as compensation! That’s more than enough to fix Coronal
His impatience was evident. His ex–wife was a tough mit to crack. He wasn’t surprised that the other racers had accepted the settlement.
They had no desire to offend Fisher Corp. No one wanted to go up against wealth and power. But she was different.
“Mr. Fisher, I just want to see Niamh behind bars again.”
Harvey’s brows furrowed into deep lines. “Elara, If you refuse to let Niamh go, she’s only going to hate you even more!”
Before Elara could respond, the officer reached Harvey’s side. His expression was grim. He shot a quick glance in Elara’s direction before speaking in a voice loud enough for her to hear.
Mr. Fisher, Niamh, and your son, Beau, were in an accident on Riverfront Avenue.”
Harvey’s entire expression froze. The bright sunlight that was once vivid and clear was now swallowed by thick clouds. A shadow fell over him.
“What did you just say?” His voice turned dark and cold, sending a chill through the air.
The officer continued, “Traffic police have already transported both Beau and Niamh to the ambulance. My colleague informed me that your son’s condition is critical
A deafening buzz erupted in Harvey’s mind, as if a thunderclap had exploded right beside his car.
“What happened to Beau?” Hearing Beau’s name from the officer’s mouth, Merida lifted her head in curiosity to ask them.
The officer’s tone softened as he turned to the little girl. “He’s hurt. They’re taking him to the hospital right now,”
Merida’s dark, jewel–like eyes widened in shock. She instinctively reached out and grasped Elara’s fingers, feeling completely at a loss.
Meanwhile, Niamh lay on the hospital bed, groaning endlessly. “It hurts… I’m in so much pain!”
The doctor stood beside her, reviewing her medical report. Ms. Jones, your report is fine. You can be discharged

But Niamh continued wailing. “I’m in so much pain!”
The doctor sighed, looking at her with mild exasperation. “But the report shows…”
“You have no idea how badly I fell from that motorcycle! The pain I’m feeling isn’t something your machines can detect!
“Doctor, just write whatever I tell you in the report!”
The doctor wouldn’t just oblige her request. “Medical records cannot be falsified.”
Niamh started making a fuss. “Just do as I say! Here… and here… It all hurts so much!”
Beau was already severely injured. If she didn’t exaggerate her own condition, how was she supposed to face Harvey?
Her heart pounded wildly at the thought of Beau being rushed into emergency care. Earlier, his heartbeat had been

The officer responded solemnly. “Beau is in the emergency room. His condition isn’t looking good.”
After hesitating slightly, he handed her a document. “This is his critical condition notice.”
