The moment Ethel saw the critical condition notice, her mouth fell open, and her pupils contracted sharply. Her entire body went rigid as she stiffened and collapsed backward.
The driver who came with her quickly caught her.
Harvey strode forward and took the critical condition notice from the traffic officer’s hand.
“How did it get this serious?” he asked.
Upon hearing this question, the traffic officer felt a surge of displeasure. It seemed that Harvey had already known that Niamh was riding a motorcycle with a five–year–old child. He was merely shocked that his son had been injured so severely.
The traffic officer sternly questioned him, “Niamh was speeding at 62 miles per hour. Your son is only five years old. As his father, why didn’t you fulfill your responsibility as his guardian?”
“Harvey!”
Niamh hobbled over on her crutches. She had even put on a few bandages on her face.
Crying, she said, “Harvey, you have to sue the traffic police! It’s all their fault! They suddenly set up a roadblock In the middle of the road! If they hadn’t put up the roadblock, Beau and I wouldn’t have had an accident!”
The officer was enraged. “Ms. Niamh, we set up the roadblock at an intersection, and there was an officer signaling you to slow down from 328 feet away. You were speeding on a road with a 37–mile–per–hour speed limit, so you have to be responsible for this!”
Before the officer even finished speaking, Ethel rushed forward and slapped Niamh across the face. The sharp sound of the slap cracked through the air. Even after that slap, she was still angry.
She grabbed her Hermes bag and hit Niamh on the head with it.
Caught off guard by the slap, Niamh felt dizzy and lost her balance. She fell hard onto the ground. Before she could even scream, Ethel raised her bag and ruthlessly struck her on the head.
The traffic officer quickly stepped in to stop her.
“Ma’am, please calm down!”
“My grandson is in the operating room right now! How do you expect me to stay calm?” Ethel’s roar was filled with agony.
“Niamh, I’ll kill you! If anything happens to my grandson, Il bury you with him!”
Niamh clutched her head with both hands, scooting backward to evade Ethel. However, Ethel chased after her, hitting her again and again.
“Save me, Harvey! Help!”
Harvey stood in place, watching coldly as Ethel hit Niamh like a madwoman.
“Harvey!”
Niamh raised an arm to shield herself from Ethel’s bag while reaching out toward Harvey for help with the other.
She cried pitifully, “Harvey, I’m about to get beaten to death! If Dawn was here, she would protect me!”
Harvey muttered coldly, “If Dawn was here…”

Niamh lifted her head and looked at his cold expression. In hat instant, her heart froze.
When he revealed his unsympathetic side, Niamh knew she was done for.
“she wouldn’t be able to save youl” Harvey continued.
He had judged her. In his heart, he had sentenced her to death. Even if Dawn was still around to plead on Niamh’s behalf, he wouldn’t spare the woman who had seriously Inred his son!
Abel arrived at the hospital. Upon seeing Niamh getting beaten up, he stormed forward in fury and kicked her in
the back.
Niamh let out a wretched scream as she fell to the ground. She felt as if her internal organs had been twisted into a knot. Before she could even catch her breath, Abel pulled off the leather belt from his waist and hit her with it.
Niamh shrieked.
“You little shit! I should’ve thrown you against a wall when you were born! How did I end up with a financial. burden like you?”
After being admitted to the hospital for a full–body examination, Niamh had taken off her racing suit. Now, was only wearing a thin, form–fitting top.
As Abel’s belt struck her, it tore through the fabric and split her skin.

As Abel lashed her, Ethel did not stop either. The two of them seemed to have endless strength as they beat Niamh together.
The traffic officer could no longer stand by and watch. Just then, the police officers in charge of Niamh’s case arrived as well.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Several officers rushed forward to break up the fight and pull Abel and Ethel away.
