As Theodore spoke, his hands tightened slightly, and a fair tremor ran through his heart. A wave of warmth spread from his chest, filling him with uncertainty.
Had he been too abrupt? Would Elara think he was crazy? towering his head, he waited patiently for her response, placing his fate entirely in her hands.
“If we were in a relationship, we might actually be able to lure Abel in,” Elara said seriously.
“Our partnership will end the day I take over Joss Teeli. When that happens, we’ll announce our breakup, and you’ll no longer be my boyfriend.”
Meeting her clear, luminous gaze, Theodore felt his throat grow dry. “Then let me be your boyfriend for one month.”
Elara extended her hand toward him. “The kind of love you speak of, the kind that asks for nothing in return, something I’ve never experienced.
“But I’m willing to try, to feel it, and to openly accept your affection. It’s because I am, by nature, worthy of being loved by you.”
A smile curved her lips as she waited for Theodore to shake her hand.
He reached out tentatively, his fingertips brushing against hers before he instinctively pulled away, as if he had been electrocuted. A surge of excitement shot through him, and for a moment, he nearly toppled over the coffee

His ears burned red, and warmth filled his chest. Taking a deep breath, he reached out again, allowing his fingers to rest against hers. A wide, child–like grin spread across his face.
Retracting his hand, he stared at the fingers that had just touched Elara’s, as if unsure where to place them.
“Pleasure to collaborate with you… My girlfriend.”
Finnegan’s sharply arched brows twitched as he held back the urge to curse. Lesley sat beside Elara, gently rubbing Elara’s fingers in her palm, over and over.
“I’ve never met someone this selfless,” she whispered. “Mr Snapp completely threw me off.”
Elara leaned in, speaking in hushed tones. “Same here. But when I think about it, experiencing something like this doesn’t seem so bad. Leaving such a valuable resource unused would be foolish.”
Lesley’s face turned red as she blurted out, “I don’t expect anything in return from you either!”
Seeing the warmth in Elara’s eyes, she became even more flustered and immediately buried her face in Elara’s
chest.
Theodore, who had still been admiring his own fingers, turped his head, only to see Lesley curled up in Elara’s arms. Almost instantly, alarms went off in his head,
He stood up, bent down, and murmured teasingly into Elara’s other ear, “Honey, when are you planning to introduce me to your family?”
Lesley lifted her head, and her gaze toward Theodore was now filled with dissatisfaction.
Elara replied, “Today. Joss Tech’s weekly executive meeting is at 10:00 am. All the senior executives will be there.” Theodore tilted his chin at Lesley, signaling her to let go of Elara’s arm. “Move aside, No. 4! Elara and her
