Chapter 254
However, when Theodore looked at her, his deep, starlit eyes held no one else only her.
As the elevator doors slid open again, Elara stepped out and strode toward the conference room. Without breaking her pace, she issued a sharp command to the Zenith Tech team trailing behind her. “I want every senior executive in the conference room in three minutes!”
The team dispersed instantly. They moved swiftly, rounding up executives from different offices, even dragging some along when necessary.
“Who are you people?”
“Let go of me! If you don’t, I’m calling the police!”
Several executives protested as their faces flushed red with frustration. But their resistance was futile. As they were herded into the conference room, their gazes landed on Elara, who was already seated at the head of the long
oval table.
She was slender, and her features were delicate and refined, yet the aura she exuded from that seat was enough to silence the entire room.
Every executive recognized her. Some of them were even her uncles.
“Elara, was this your doing?”
“Elara, this is outrageous! You’re being completely unreasonable!”
She glanced down at her watch. “You’re all late for the meeting. Your annual bonuses will be reduced by 30%.”
“Do you think you have the authority to cut our bonuses?” One of the executives grumbled.
Just then, Abel stormed in. His face was dark with fury, and he wasted no time confronting Elara.
“Are you trying to stage a rebellion?”
Elara’s voice remained soft but firm. “Dad, you personally appointed me as VP and put me in charge of the acquisition project. I expect you to cooperate with my work.”
Abel let out a derisive laugh, looking at her as if she were a child playing pretend. “Newly appointed and already setting fires, huh? Fine. Let’s see how long you can keep them burning!”
As Abel finished speaking, he turned his attention to Theodore, whom he had noticed the moment he walked in. He casually strolled over to a cabinet while talking to Elara, retrieved a box of cigars, and offered one to Theodore with a flattering smile.
“Mr. Snapp, what brings a busy man like you to spend time with my daughter?
Theodore’s long, sculpted fingers took hold of the cigar. He let out a low hum. “My, Mr. Jones, that’s not quite the right approach.”
Abel immediately caught on and pulled out his lighter, flicking it open to light the cigar for Theodore. As wisps of blue–gray smoke curled upward, Elara’s brows knitted slightly
Theodore immediately stubbed out the cigar and tossed it into the trash without hesitation. He then shrugged off his jacket before settling, back down beside her.
Elara bit her tongue lightly. When she had been pregnant, she had inhaled more than her share of Harvey’s secondhand smoke.

She had once brought up the dangers of it, but Ethel overheard and snapped at her, calling her “a country bumpkin obsessed with pointless rules“.

Harvey smoked excessively, claiming it was his way of coping with work stress. As his wife, she was expected to be understanding of his habit.
When she had frowned at the smell, he had simply scoffed, ‘If you don’t like it, stay away from me.”
It wasn’t until Beau developed a sensitivity to smoke–coughing and tearing up at the faintest whiff–that Harvey reluctantly refrained from smoking inside the Fisher residence.
But that was a tale from a distant past.
Elara’s voice rang out, “As the head of this acquisition project, I have brought in two potential buyers for Joss Tech. One of them is Zenith Tech, who’s backed by the Lunar Group.
“Zenith Tech has made an offer of 1.2 billion to acquire Joss Tech. The proposal before you outlines their acquisition terms. Everyone, please take a look.”
To Theodore, her voice was as melodic as a symphony. It wasn’t until he stepped into the president’s office at the Lunar Group earlier that day that he realized–Finnegan was the true boss of Lunar.
And as for the name of the group itself… There was no doubt it was named Elara.
