Chapter 271
When Harvey brought Beau back to the hospital, the boy’s voice was completely hoarse from crying. He couldn’t make a sound, and his little face was twisted in misery.
The prolonged emotional distress, combined with the cold rain and the fall, had triggered inflammation in his body. His checks flushed red, and his entire body trembled incontrollably.
Harvey immediately noticed something was wrong and called for the doctors. Several doctors surrounded Beau, quickly administering emergency treatment.
Ethel rushed over upon hearing the news. Seeing the doctors clustered around the hospital bed, she clutched her chest in alarm.
“What happened to Beau? Where did Mary take him?”
“He went to find Elara,” Harvey said impatiently.
Ethel tensed. “He just went to see that heartless woman, so how did he end up like this? Did Elara do something to him?”
Harvey’s tone was cold. “She refused to forgive him and left him out in the rain.”
Ethel nearly fainted from anger. “I’m calling the media! I’ll make sure every outlet reports that Elara is unfit to be a mother! .
“Just because she’s famous now doesn’t mean we have to hold her in high regard. Reputation is a double–edged sword–however high she’s been lifted, I’ll make sure she fails just as hard!”
“Do whatever you want,” Harvey muttered, turning his face toward the hospital room with a weary expression.
The name Elara was like a thom lodged deep in his heart, buried so deeply it had merged with his veins, coursing through him with every pulse. Just thinking about her made his entire body ache.
Seeing her son agree with her plan, Ethel’s mood instantly brightened.
“By the way, how did the meeting with the Schmidt family’s daughter go?”
Ethel’s sudden question made Harvey think he had misheard. “Mom, the doctors are still doing everything they can to save Beau!!!
Just a second ago, Ethel had been devastated over Beau’s condition. Now, she was eagerly bringing up Harvey’s love life in the next breath.
“The doctors are handling, Beau, but that shouldn’t stop you from finding him a new mother!”
She continued, “Hurry up and get him a stepmother–someone who can take good care of him. That young lady from the Schmidt family graduated from medical school, specializing in traditional medicine.
“She may be a bit older, but at least if I get sick, she can help take care of me too!
Ethel leaned in closer and lowered her voice. “Beau’s health might never fully recover. You need to have another healthy child as soon as possible!”
Harvey’s gaze toward Ethel immediately turned cold with disgust.
“Mom! Enough! Are you seriously hoping Beau won’t get better?”
“I didn’t say that!” Seeing that Harvey didn’t want to hear any more, Ethel chose not to argue with him in the hospital corridor.

Her gaze shifted past Harvey’s shoulder.
Harvey turned around and saw Leonard sitting in a wheel hair, being pushed forward by his assistant, Gliver.
Behind Leonard, several bodyguards followed closely Xavier had come as well, holding a bouquet of carnations in his hands:
The moment Leonard appeared, the entire world seemed to quiet around him No one else could sit in a wheelchair, be pushed along by others, and yet still radiate such an overwhelming and undeniable presence
He carried an aura of absolute authority, illuminating the entire corridor with his mere presence. Facing Harvey, Leonard was the first to speak. “Xavier wanted to visit
