Chapter 307
Niamh quickly turned to Abel, desperate to explain, “Dad! It’s not what you think! This isn’t the video I put up!” But Abel was beyond reason. His explicit video with Anya had been exposed in front of so many people–and it was his own daughter who had done it.
Just minutes ago, he had been proudly telling the employees and executives how his two daughters had joined Joss Tech, and how the family would work together to create a bright future.
His impassioned speech still echoed in the room. Yet now Namh, his so–called devoted daughter, had delivered a crushing blow.
Abel was so furious he could have ripped Niamh’s head off and kicked it like a ball!
“You disgraceful brat! I’ll kill you!”
Abel raised his foot and aimed a kick at Niamh’s head. He genuinely wanted to kick her skull in! Terrified, Niamh scrambled away on all fours, barely avoiding the blow.
She looked toward Elara, thinking that with so many people watching, Elara wouldn’t just stand by and let her die, right?
But instead, she saw Elara kneeling on the ground, shaking Daphne’s shoulders.
“Mom! Wake up!”
Elara pressed her fingers against Daphne’s philtrum, and Daphne’s brows furrowe ghtly.
She couldn’t take it anymore and opened her eyes, crying out, “It hurts!” before pretending to faint again.
Elara knew Daphne was faking it. In situations like this, playing the victim was the only way to claim the moral high ground.
So, Elara was also playing the role of the devoted daughter, too busy worrying about her mother to care about Niamh, who was being beaten by Abel.
Niamh’s screams echoed relentlessly.
The employees present chose to protect themselves, not dating to step forward. After all, Abel was their boss, and a single word from him could get them fired.
As for the executives and shareholders, some were on their phones making calls, while others looked grave as they whispered to each other.
Abel’s affair with his secretary wasn’t exactly news within the company. But his explicit cheating video being publicly exposed, especially with the media present, escalated the scandal to catastrophic levels.
The executives and shareholders were now solely focused on minimizing the damage this would cause to Joss Tech.
“Hey! Stop filming!”
One executive blocked the camera lens, while another gestured for security to escort the media out.
Faye watched the chaos unfolding on stage. So, this was the spectacle Elara had invited her to witness.
As a reporter for Gingham TV, she couldn’t report on such salacious news. However, the reporters from World Tracker who had come with her were a different story. As an online media outlet, they thrived on sensational, eye- catching headlines.

The World Tracker reporter had already cornered Anya, who was covering her face and crouching on the ground,
for an interview.
After silently counting to 30 in her head, Elara called out, “Someone stop my dad! If this goes on, Niamh won’t make it!”
Niamh’s mouth was full of blood, and several of her teeth had been knocked out. The scene on stage could only be described as bloody and horrifying
Suddenly, a hand covered Elara’s eyes, blocking her view,
Theodore stood behind her, bending down to whisper gently, “Don’t look. If you have nightmares tonight, your boyfriend here will feel heartbroken.”
Elara swallowed hard, a bitter taste rising in the back of her throat. When she was 18 and first recognized as a member of the Jones family, she was disturbed by a chaotic noise one night.
She opened her eyes, lying in bed and trying to identify the sound, but couldn’t figure out what it was. Her childhood experiences had left her anxious and restless whenever she felt unsafe.
She got up to investigate and found Benjamin curled up in the corner of the staircase, while Abel whipped him with a belt.
Under the dim light, the belt swung through the air, and dark red blood splattered in a vivid arc across the wallpaper.
Benjamin had curled himself into a ball like a stray dog. He was already bloodied and used from Abel’s beating, yet he didn’t let out a single cry of pain.
As if sensing her presence, Benjamin suddenly looked up, locking eyes with Elara standing on the stairs.
His gaze was dark and hollow. But the moment he recognized Elara’s face, his eyes filled with a thomy, uncontrollable hatred.
Elara’s heart clenched. She then quickly retreated to her room to avoid being noticed by Abel
The next morning, the wallpaper at the comer of the staircase had been replaced, and the wooden stairs were wiped clean, leaving no trace of the previous night’s violence.
Benjamin didn’t join them for breakfast. When Elara casually asked about him, Daphne said he was sick.
After that, Elara carried a tray of breakfast to Benjamin’s room and pushed the door open. The smell of blood hit her immediately.
