Chapter 311
Niamh noticed Abel’s breathing grow heavier, and she felt a slight sense of relief. It was as if she could see at glimmer of hope for turning the situation around. ·
Finally, it would be Elara’s tum to have her teeth knocked out by Abel!
Abel deleted the video related to Elara from Niamh’s phone album. He took a deep breath, then raised his hand. and slapped Niamh again.
The slap came with a whistling sound, landing hard on Niah’s face. The cotton ball in Niamh’s mouth flew out, mixed with thick blood, and splattered onto the floor.
“Niamh Jones! You’re just asking for it! You ruined me, and now you’re trying to ruin Elara too.
“I think you want to destroy the entire Jones family! I should just beat you to death!”
Abel’s eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets.
“I didn’t!” Niamh screamed as she spat out blood, the metallic taste of rust filling her mouth.
Even so, her explanations were futile. She was just wondering why Abel wouldn’t believe her?
Abel threw the phone at Niamh and reached for his belt. When she saw Abel about to whip her with the belt, fear flashed in her eyes.
Just then, Abel’s phone rang. He gave Niamh a quick lash while holding the belt, the ulled out his phone with his other hand.
“Hello” Abel glanced at the caller ID and answered.
After hearing the voice on the other end, he frowned and said, “Come in.”
Several major shareholders of Joss Tech walked in, and the leading one spoke up, “Abel, the current public opinion is against you. Ohm Technologies is even considering withdrawing from the acquisition!”
Abel’s face turned anxious when he heard this. “What? How can they just back out like that? I’ll go talk t the executives at Ohm Technologies right now!”
Another shareholder stepped in front of him. “Don’t you realize that showing your face anywhere right now will only add fuel to the fire? Do you want to become a laughingstock?”
The shareholders made a difficult decision. “After discussion, we’ve unanimously agreed that you should issue a statement resigning from your position as CEO. Only then can we calm the negative backlash surrounding you and the company.”
“Honestly, how could you cause such a mess during such a critical period for Joss Tech’s acquisition?” One of the shareholders shot a disdainful glance at Niamh.
Abel pressed his lips together. Naturally, he didn’t want to step down as CEO of Joss Tech.
“If I resign as CEO, who will take over?”
The shareholders turned their gaze to Elara.
One of them declared, “I recommend your daughter Elara to take over your position!”
Another shareholder chimed in, “Elara has been performing exceptionally well at Joss Tech recently. Why not let

her act as CEO in her capacity as vice president? That way, you don’t have to officially step down.”
Abel’s expression darkened. He still had reservations. Letting go of his power and stepping down wasn’t an easy
decision.
Elara spoke up, “Can’t we just have Niamh issue a public apology? I’ve already notified HR to terminate the secretary involved.”
She seemed reluctant to take over Abel’s position as CEO. The shareholders‘ eyes then turned to Niamh, their gazes filled with resentment.
“She caused a scene at your induction ceremony, so of course she should apologize. But that’s far from enough.”
Another shareholder added, “After something like this, Abel needs to lay low for a while and avoid public appearances. He can return once people start to forget.”
“The most urgent matter now is to successfully sell Joss Tech. With this scandal, other companies will only use it as leverage to drive down our price!”
Abel’s expression grew increasingly grim. He knew he couldn’t withstand the pressure from the shareholders.
If the acquiring companies used his actions as leverage to drastically lower their offer for Joss Tech at this critical moment, he would become the company’s greatest liability
He took a deep breath and said, “I’ll have my secretary-”
Abel suddenly remembered that the secretary who usually drafted announcemes and notices for him had already been fired by Elara.
He turned to Elara and said, “Elara, help me draft a resignation letter. I’ll temporarily step down as CEO, and you, as vice president, will take over my duties.”
Elara thought for a moment, then nodded. “Dad, while you’re away, I’ll do my best to manage Joss Tech well.”
Abel felt the weight on his shoulders vanish in an instant. He slumped down as he sat heavily on the couch, his once domineering aura completely gone.
Today, his reputation was in ruins. The moment he stepped down as CEO, he felt like he had lost everything.
But he believed that once Elara successfully sold Joss Tech and he received a substantial payout, he could still make a comeback!
Abel
grabbed his belt and, out of frustration, lashed it across Niamh’s head.
“Ah! That hurts!” Niamh clutched her head, crying out in pain.
Her cries only fueled Abel’s rising anger. “This is all your fault!”
Niamh looked at Elara and suddenly shuddered.
She realized that everything that had happened that day was part of Elara’s plan! Elara had deliberately let her see the compromising video of herself and Harvey.
Elara had intentionally provoked her!
And she had fallen right into Elara’s trap, trying to expose the video at Elara’s induction ceremony. But Elara had switched the video, leading to Abel’s downfall and forcing him to resign as CEO.
Now, as vice president, Elara had effectively taken control of Joss Tech! Once Niamh pieced everything together, a chill ran down her spine.
