Niamh pointed at Elara, her voice urgent and frantic. “Dad! All of this was orchestrated by Elara to ruin us!”
Niamh’s face was swollen to the point of resembling a pig’s head. When she spoke, her words were slurred and barely intelligible.
Her words struck a chord in Abel, making his heart skip a beat. Abel folded the belt in half and swung it at Niamh’s
hose.
“Don’t you dare try to drive a wedge between me and Elarali
Niamh was stunned. She couldn’t understand why Abel had suddenly taken Elara’s side.
“Dad, I’m the one who grew up by your side! What kind of bond could you possibly have with Elara? You never even wanted to bring her back into the family in the first place!”
“Shutt “Shut the hell up!”
Abel was furious. His reputation was in tatters, while Elara’s influence was rising rapidly. He still needed to rely on her in the future, so how could he allow Niamh to sow discord between them right in front of him?
Abel shouted, “Get me some duct tape!”
A pale hand handed him a roll of black duct tape. Benjamin raised an eyebrow when he saw it was Wendy who had passed the tape to Abel.
Abel tore off a strip of tape, and Niamh cried out in panic, Dad, what are you doing?”
Abel glared at her with a ruthless expression. “I’m going to shut your mouth, of course!”
Abel knew his relationship with Elara wasn’t great. It had been nine years since Elara was brought back into the Jones family, and the number of times they had spoken could be counted on one hand.
Not to mention, there had been times when they were at each other’s throats. But now, Abel wanted to mend his relationship with Elara
“Dad! No!” Niamh screamed, but she was powerless to stop Abel.
Abel wrapped the tape around her mouth in one swift motion.
Wendy stood to the side, watching Niamh coldly, her eyes dark and murky like a swamp. A similar scene flashed through her mind.
She had once been cornered by Niamh in a bathroom. Niamh had used duct tape like bandages, wrapping them. around her eyes, hair, mouth, and nose, leaving her unable to breathe or cry for help
She had been plunged into darkness, waiting for death to take her. It was Dawn who had used scissors to cut the Tape off her face.
When she opened her eyes and saw the light again, Dawn had seemed like an angel to her.
“Let’s go.”
Benjamin wrapped an arm around Wendy’s shoulders. Wendy snapped out of her thoughts and leaned weakly against his chest
Benjamin led her away. The chaos of the Jones family was too much for him to continue watching

Chapter 312
Meanwhile, Priscilla lounged on a leather sofa in the presidential suite of a five–star hotel. A shirtless man knelt in front of her, her feet resting on his muscular thighs as he carefully filed her toenails.
The voice coming through her Bluetooth earpiece made Priscilla open her eyes.
“Elara is acting as the interim CEO of Joss Tech?”
Someone on the other end responded, “Yes, the shareholders have approved the decision. But Elara is only acting as interim CEO. Once the dust settles, Abel will still return.
Priscilla rested her cheek on her hand and let out a cold laugh. “Where exactly does Abel think he’s returning to?”
By the time the scandal’s impact on Abel faded, Joss Tech would already be acquired. When Abel tried to reclaim his position, what position would there even be for him to reclaim?
There would no longer be a CEO seat waiting for him.
Plus, didn’t Abel realize how precarious his position was? But what could he do?
The explosive video from the induction ceremony had thrust Abel into the spotlight. Resigning as CEO was his only option.
Now, all Abel could do was try to repair his relationship with Elara, hoping she would give him some role within the company out of familial loyalty.
Priscilla curled her lips and murmured, “This Elara is quite something.”
The man filing her nails glanced up at her.
Priscilla was gently massaging her temples with her fingertips.
It was clear that Elara’s goal in taking the vice president position at Joss Tech was to gain complete control of Jones Group.
