Elara laughed when she heard this, but Abel held up three fingers.
“Harvey is offering three billion dollars!”
Abel leaned on the table, his voice tinged with excitement. If Joss Tech is acquired by Fisher Corp, we can both be on Fisher Corp’s board of directors!”

The price and terms Harvey offered were very tempting to him.
Elara took the proposal but didn’t even glance at it. She tore off the first page and fed it into the shredder. Then, the second page, the third page–each one followed the same fate.
Her movements were slow and deliberate as she fed the pages into the shredder. This proposal, which Harvey had spent all night writing, meant nothing to her.

Abel’s heart skipped a beat. He could hardly stay seated. Harvey’s offer was more than double what Theodore had proposed.

“Dad, you no longer have decision–making authority.” Elara’s single sentence forced Abel back into his chair. Remembering how he had lost his decision–making power over Joss Tech, Abel hated Niamh even more. He could only plead, “Elara, you need to think about the future of Jones Group!
