Chapter 339
The busy tone echoed in Priscilla’s ears, and her expression visibly cracked. She turned her head, staring at her phone in disbelief.
Did Elara just hang up on her? How could that be? No one had ever dared to hang up on her before.
Priscilla refused to believe it. Maybe Elara had accidentally declined the call. There was no way Elara would actually do such a thing!
She d
dialed Elara’s number again, this time putting the call on speakerphone. Everyone in the room turned their attention to Priscilla’s phone while holding their breath.
But as the seconds ticked by, the call remained unanswered. Priscilla’s hand that was holding the phone began to tremble slightly.
The atmosphere in the room grew tense, and an awkward silence spread among the onlookers.
“The number you have dialed is not answering. Please try again later.” The emotionless automated voice rang out from Priscilla’s phone.
Someone spoke up, “Ms. Jones might be busy right now.”
“Ms. Price, let me reach out to Ms. Jones. Once I get in touch with her, I’ll have her come to Price Nation headquarters to meet with you.”
A few unruly curls fell across Priscilla’s face, which now looked as cold as ice. She had always been the one to take the initiative. She hated waiting, especially when it left her feeling uncertain.
Ever since Elara had outmaneuvered her, a fire had been burning in her chest. She was desperate to regain control. She wanted to pin Elara down once more, just like she had done so effortlessly before, leaving Elara at her mercy.
Priscilla turned to Kira and ordered, “Find out where Elara is right now.”
Priscilla’s secretary, a capable and efficient woman, had been tracking the progress of the team working on Elara’s framework. Since last week, Kira had sensed that the project would fail without Elara’s involvement. “Ms. Price, Ms. Jones is at Summit Academy’s kindergarten division between 3:00 and 4:00 pm, watching class 18’s dance rehearsal.”
As a secretary, she couldn’t wait for Priscilla to give orders before acting. She had already been quietly keeping tabs on Elara’s whereabouts.
The moment Kira finished speaking, Priscilla said, “Get the car ready! If Elara won’t answer my calls, fine–I’ll go find her myself!”
“Yes, Ms. Price.”
As her secretary acknowledged the order, Priscilla hurried out of the room in her six–inch heels.
Kira, who was wearing round glasses, watched her boss’s retreating figure. While following Priscilla out, she blindly typed a few words into her phone’s chat interface.
“Your mom is heading to Summit Academy’s kindergarten division.”
“Elara, this time you really need to teach your daughter to think about the bigger picture!”
Rosalie stood below the stage, sneering. “Do you know how many people mocked you online for not transferring

your daughter to another school? They said you were cowardly and didn’t know how to protect your daughter!”
Rosalie sighed as if sympathizing with Elara and Merida, her tone dripping with false concern. “You’ve raised your daughter this way, so you need to protect her self esteem.
“Let me give you Paisley’s diet plan. Take your daughter home, follow the plan, and I guarantee she’ll lose over ten pounds in a month!”
Elara only glanced at Rosalie out of the corner of her eye. “If you love giving orders so much, why don’t you go direct traffic on the street?”
She noticed the other parents standing with Rosalie also looked displeased.
“Ms. Jones, I think it’s best if you take your daughter off the stage. I’m not forcing you, but you need to teach your child to consider the bigger picture. Without Merida, our kids will definitely secure a top–three spot under Ms. Roman’s guidance!”
“Merida is just too heavy. There’s nothing aesthetically pleasing about her dancing ballet.”
