Chapter 341
Elara looked at Rosalie, fully aware of the scheme she was plotting. Their eyes met, and the air between them crackled with tension, as if sparks were about to ignite.
Back in the Fisher family, Rosalie had never been kind to Elara. In the past, Elara had deliberately avoided her for the sake of family harmony. Yet even now, Rosalie was still targeting her.
A soft chuckle escaped Elara’s throat. Prejudice was like an insurmountable mountain in people’s hearts, and the wealthier they were, the more they feared outsiders.
Rosalie, like Harvey, looked down on her from the bottom of her heart. From the moment Elara married into the Fisher family, Rosalie had been waiting for the day she would be kicked out.
“Elara, you’d better hurry and talk to the school administration. If you’re too late and the program list is finalized, you won’t be able to add Merida’s name.” Rosalie’s lips curled into a smile as she said this, but it didn’t reach her
eyes.
Suddenly, as if remembering something, she added, “But I n sure, given your close relationship with Mr. White, even if the program list is already being printed, the school leadership will make an exception for your daughter, won’t they?”
Rosalie’s words caused the other parents to visibly stiffen. Darcie’s young face twisted with resentment. She wished she could spit in Elara’s face.
How disgusting!
She had heard from Rosalie before that Elara and Desmond White had a questionable relationship. Desmond’s special treatment of Elára likely meant Elara had climbed into his bed back when she was at Hawke University!
Elara had been so young when she attended Hawke–she had just turned 18 when she graduated with her bachelor’s degree!
A wave of disgust churned in Darcie’s chest. Elara was clearly relying on her connection with Desmond to push for her daughter to have a solo performance at the talent show.
“What did you just say?” A bold, confident voice rang out, and everyone turned to look.
Priscilla walked in, her slender stiletto heels clicking sharply. Her bare feet tensed as if she were walking on a bed of nails, yet she moved with unshakable poise.
Her soft curls swayed slightly with each step, and her striking makeup contrasted with her porcelain skin, which seemed to glow with a cold light.
Rosalie, who always judged people by their clothes first, scanned Priscilla from head to toe. Her eyes lingered on the impeccably tailored emerald–green cashmere coat and the rare crocodile leather handbag Priscilla carried–a bag that only circulated in auctions.
If she wasn’t mistaken, this was the same bag that had sold for millions at Chester’s Auction in New Rosgis last month.
She had watched the live stream of the auction, drooling over the bag but knowing it was far out of her reach. Even as a member of the Fisher family, her most expensive Birkin bags were treated like priceless treasures.
“Who are you?” Rosalie asked, somewhat puzzled.
The woman’s striking appearance felt familiar, but she couldn’t quite place her.
“Are you in the wrong place? Class 1B is rehearsing right now.”

Rosalie assumed Priscilla was just another parent who had come early to watch the rehearsal.
As she spoke, Priscilla walked straight up to her and stopped right in front of her. “What did you just say? What’s the relationship between Elara and Mr. White?”
Rosalie’s eyes curved into a smile. “You didn’t know? Mr. White came to our school to back Elara up back then. Even when she was in college, he took special care of her.
“Ah. Well, not many people are as lucky as her, still being remembered by a director so many years after graduation.”
Rosalie laughed, but Priscilla suddenly raised her h
and and slapped her across the face. The sharp sound of the slap startled everyone in the room.
