Chapter 344
Merida clutched Elara’s hand with both of her small fists, her voice filled with indignation. “I want you to write an apology letter to Mommy!”
“Dream on!” Rosalie spat out, her eyes sharp and venomous.
Merida wasn’t intimidated. Instead, she grew even more determined. “I want you to read the apology letter out loud in front of everyone at the talent show!”
Rosalie’s laughter shook her entire chest.
She took a deep breath, suppressing the rage bubbling inside her, and spoke to Merida in a condescending. childlike tone. “Sure! If you want me to read an apology letter on stage in front of everyone, you’ll have to win first place at the talent show!
“Only if you’re on stage accepting an award will you have the right to call me up, won’t you?”
Anger and mockery intertwined, making Rosalie’s head feel hot one moment and cold the next. Being slapped by Priscilla in public was something Rosalie could grudgingly accept as the price of crossing someone so powerful. But being forced to write an apology letter? That felt like a five–year–old was humiliating her. There was no she would ever endure such disgrace.

She sneered at Elara. “If Merida can win first place at the talent show, I’ll be utterly impressed by both of you! I’ll apologize willingly!
“Elara, I’ll write the apology letter, but whether I read it in front of everyone depends on your abilities!” She only dared to say this because she was certain Merida had no chance of winning first place on her own. Whether Merida’s solo performance would even make it into the talent show was still up in the air.
Rosalie made her bold claim without hesitation, confident that this “satellite” she launched would never come crashing back to earth.
Elara knew exactly what Rosalie was scheming. Forget a handwritten apology letter–getting Rosalie to lower her proud head and offer a sincere verbal apology was already an impossible task.
Merida spoke up before Elara could. “I’ll participate in the talent show! I’ll perform at the talent show!”
She silently vowed to herself that she would win first place. Originally, Merida had never even thought about winning first place. But now, her determination and fighting spirit were burning brighter than ever for her mommy.
Elara gently placed her hands on Merida’s shoulders and toll Rosalie, “You go ahead and write that apology letter. As for Merida participating in the talent show, that’s none of your concern!”
Elara tilted her head slightly and said softly to Rosalie, “I’m looking forward to the contents of your letter.”
Rosalie’s breathing grew rapid. In the Fisher family, Elara had always carried herself with this same high–handed demeanor. Even if she had risen to prominence, a woman from humble origins could never stand as Rosalie’s equal.
Even so, Rosalie didn’t dare bare her fangs at Elara in front of Priscilla Price.
Instead, she forced a smile and said, “Ms. Price, it’s not that I don’t want to apologize to Elara. It’s just that she won’t accept a verbal apology…”
Priscilla rolled her eyes, having no patience for Rosalie’s insincere excuses.

“Go write the apology letter,” Priscilla said dismissively, then turned to Elara. “When is the talent show? I’ll come and watch.”
Elara replied, “It’s next month.”
Priscilla seized the opportunity to invite her, “Let’s talk privately.”
Elara’s eyes held a faint smile. She had guessed that Priscilla’s appearance at Summit Academy was because of her.
