Chapter 350
Harvey grabbed Lesley’s arm, his fingers clamping around her slender frame. Immediately, a flicker of disdain flashed through his eyes.
Lesley was all skin and bones. Why was Lesley touching Elara?
“Harvey! What the hell are you doing?” Elara snapped, her voice sharp with anger. She tried to pry his hand off Lesley’s arm.
“Let go of Lesley!”
Harvey’s fury only burned hotter when he saw Elara standing in front of Lesley protectively. He let out a scornful scoff and yanked his hand away, but his voice was laced with irritation as he spat, “Why are you always hanging around weaklings like them?
“This person’s just like that soft–ass, whiny Theodore. Always clinging to you, always needing you to protect them!”
He was pissed.
Elara rolled her eyes. “Because I like people like them!”
Harvey’s eyes widened in disbelief. Was he not Elara’s cup of tea?
To him, Theodore and Lesley were practically the same–both looked too weak to stand on their own. He could take them down effortlessly if he so much as lifted a finger
But somehow, because they were always hiding behind Elars, it felt like the more they relied on her, the more she wanted to push him away.
His jaw clenched, and the veins at his temple throbbed.
Then, a tiny voice piped up.
“The elevator shook really hard just now,” Merida said, her tone serious. “Lesley protected me and Mommy.” She pouted at Harvey. “Mr. Harvey, don’t be mean to Lesley!”
Harvey narrowed his eyes at her and asked, “Do you like this person?”
Merida nodded without hesitation, catching on that he was talking about Lesley.
“I love Lesley!” she declared proudly.
Harvey’s expression darkened. “Who do you like more? Lesley or Theodore?”
Merida blinked, thinking hard. Then, in the most innocent matter–of–fact way, she said, “I like Lesley more!”
She wasn’t trying to play it safe or be neutral. She just said what she truly felt.
Hearing this, Lesley broke into a grin. Any sour mood left behind by Harvey instantly disappeared.
Harvey, however, refused to let it go. “Why?” he demanded.
Merida started counting on her chubby fingers. “Because Lesley cooks yummy food. Lesley smells nice. And I spend the most time with Lesley. At night, Mommy and I sleep with Lesley. So, of course, I love Lesley the most!”
Harvey felt no joy at all over Theodore falling out of favor i Merida’s heart. Instead, as Merida spoke, an unsettling chill spread through his cliest.

Chapter 350
“What did you just say?”
His pupils constricted in shock.
“You guys… sleep together?”
“Uh–huh!” Merida nodded enthusiastically. “Mommy and love sleeping with Lesley! But sometimes, when Mommy and Lesley talk too late, they let me sleep alone so can rest.”
She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. She rarely held grudges, never made enemies, and was quick to shake off any negative emotions.
Just now, she had been startled in the elevator, but as soon as she stepped out and ran into Harvey, she started rattling off praise for someone else like a wind–up toy, spilling everything without a second thought.
What she didn’t notice, however, was that Harvey’s sharp features had darkened.
The words “Mommy and Lesley talked late into the night” meant one thing to Merida, but when they landed in Harvey’s ears, they took on an entirely different meaning.
A crack appeared in his usually unreadable gaze as he demanded, “You two even sleep together?”
Lesley looked at him like he was an idiot. She knew Harvey still hadn’t figured out that she was a woman.
“Yeah. And who the hell are you? What Elara and I do is none of your business.”
Harvey’s jaw tightened, sharp lines forming as he snapped, “She’s dating Theodore. Are you trying to be the other man?”
Lesley threw an arm around Elara’s shoulder, tilting her face up with an arrogant smirk. Her sharp features and bold stance made her look just like a confident young man. She said, “So what if she’s with Theodore? I’m the one she truly loves.”
Elara laughed at that, her tone affectionate as she agreed. “You’re absolutely right.”
