Chapter 355
Afterward, Lesley and Elara walked downstairs with Merida
Lesley said, “I’m a bit confused now. Is Harvey trying to get custody of Merida, or does he regret divorcing you?”
Elara’s voice was calm, “I don’t care what he thinks. Every day since leaving him and the Fisher family has been a day of freedom for me.”
Lesley voiced her concern, “I’m just worried Harvey might continue to cling to you and cause trouble.”
Elara frowned slightly, having considered this possibility herself.
Lesley suggested, “Why don’t you apply for a restraining order to keep him out of your life?”
Elara replied, “He hasn’t been violent, so a restraining order wouldn’t be granted. Besides, Harvey is the type to go to extremes. If we restrict him, he’ll only push back harder.”
Elara still felt a lingering fear when she remembered the time Harvey had abducted her.
She concluded, “When dealing with Harvey Fisher, I think it’s better to manage him than to block him. If he wants. to show up in front of me, let him. But I won’t make it easy for him!”
That same evening, after returning home, Merida decided on the performance she wanted to do for the talent show: a tap dance routine. When she proposed the idea to Elara, she performed a short tap dance right in front of
her.
Elara clapped with her mouth wide open, and Lesley was so amazed she nearly forgot to blink. Her sleepiness completely disappeared as she applauded enthusiastically.
“Merida, you’re amazing! Where did you learn to tap dance like that?”
After finishing her tap dance routine, Merida wasn’t out of breath, her face wasn’t flushed, and her breathing remained steady. “I learned it from watching TV shows.”
Lesley was stunned. “You learned all that just by watching TV?”
“Yep!” Merida nodded. “It’s super easy. That’s why I want to add some stunt elements and a bit of a fight scene to the performance. Wouldn’t that be exciting?”
Lesley looked concerned. “Stunts are really difficult, Merida. You only have two days to rehearse.”
Elara, however, wasn’t worried about Merida’s progress. She explained to Lesley, “She learned ballet moves just by watching TV. The splits, spins–Merida picks them up instantly.”
Lesley still had doubts. “Tap dance is way more exhausting than ballet, and this time Merida’s performing solo. If she doesn’t deliver a visually stunning routine, she might not…“.
Elara laughed. “Don’t worry about her stamina. When Merida was four, she could follow along with intense live workout sessions for an hour without taking a break.”
Merida was full of energy and loved exercising, but since she was still so young, Elara made sure to keep an eye on her. After an hour of activity, Elara would give Merida a massage to relax her muscles.
Elara fully supported Merida’s vision for her performance and let her take the lead. Merida then called Finnegan, who decided to arrange for a few tap dance instructors to give her crash training.

Chapter 355
The next afternoon, Theodore accompanied Elara to the basketball gym. From a distance, they could hear the rhythmic tapping of shoes against the floor, accompanied by the lively beat of jazz music.
Finnegan had cleared out one of his basketball gymns for Merida’s practice. They quickly saw Merida, who was dressed in a bright orange–and–yellow outfit, with her tap shoes clicking rapidly as she moved across a series of raised platforms.
