Chapter 357
Less than half a minute into the practice session-
“Ugh!”
Harvey was forced back a step by Merida as a low groan escaped his throat. He felt like his ribs were about to break!
Every muscle, connected to his nerves, throbbed with pain. Harvey quickly felt a metallic taste rise in his throat, and he choked, coughing violently.
Merida, standing on the raised platform, immediately asked, “Mr. Harvey, are you okay?”
Harvey clutched his chest, surprised that after taking a kick from Merida, he could barely straighten up.
Before he could respond, a cool, mocking voice cut in. “Mr. Harvey, are you sure you can handle this?”
Harvey turned sharply to see Theodore leaning against the wall. His posture was casual as he smirked at Harvey. His lips were curled into a grin, and his eyes filled with mischief.

Everyone knew what Harvey’s intentions were when he suddenly showed up to practice with Merida. But neither Elara nor Finnegan stopped him because they were well aware of the consequences of Harvey practicing with her.
Only Harvey was clueless about the strength of his former daughter!
“I’m fine!” Harvey snapped, refusing to let Theodore look down on him. He wanted to prove his importance as Merida’s father.
Elara ignored the two men bickering. She sat with a plastic bag on her lap, peeling an orange. Once Merida took a break, she could have the fruit platter Elara had prepared.
Meanwhile, Beau sat in his wheelchair. His small body was swallowed by a large black puffer jacket, making him look like he was wrapped in a giant blanket.
He was about 15 feet away from Elara, and since entering the gym, his eyes had been fixed on her. Yet, Elara never once glanced his way.
Beau knew Elara was peeling oranges for Merida. She carefully separated each segment, using a toothpick to remove every tiny seed.
Merida was usually careless when it came to eating. She would eat watermelon without spitting out the seeds and apples without peeling them, unlike Beau, who had many specific demands.
Beau would only eat seedless watermelon, and even then, only the center part. Merida often scolded him for wasting food, finishing the watermelon he’d only taken one bite of.
When it came to apples, they had to be cut into small cubes. If Elara wanted him to eat the peel, she had to carve it into little bunny shapes before he’d even consider it.
As for oranges, he ate them segment by segment, refusing to touch the pith. So, Elara had to meticulously remove every bit of pith before Beau would eat them.
Now, Beau noticed that after peeling the orange, Elara didn’t bother to remove the pith. This meant she hadn’t even considered that Beau might be there. The orange she peeled wasn’t meant for him at all.
Feeling completely ignored by Elara, Beau lowered his head in disappointment. Just then, Lesley walked in.
She sat down beside Elara. “I washed the strawberries. Should I remove the leaves? It’ll make it easier for Merida
to eat.”

“Sure, that’s fine.”
Elara responded softly, and Lesley began plucking the green leaves off the strawberries from the plastic bag. Every now and then, she fed a strawberry to Elara.
“Is it sweet?”
Elara ate the strawberry, and her eyes curved like the reflection of the moon on a lake.
“It’s sweet and tart. Let Merida eat the oranges first. If she eats the strawberries first, the oranges will taste bland to her.”
At that moment, Harvey felt a metallic taste rise in his throat, the pain in his chest lingering after his sparring session with Merida.
Just then, he turned his head and saw Lesley feeding Elara strawberries with her own hands. Harvey immediately stood frozen in place.
Theodore, Elara, and Lesley sat side by side. Lesley was openly feeding Elara strawberries, yet Theodore showed no reaction at all!
Did Theodore not see any of this? Harvey was simply baffled.
Just then, Theodore turned his head and saw Elara eating another strawberry from Lesley’s hand. Yet, Theodore’s
expression didn’t change in the slightest.
Harvey felt like he’d been hit by a truck. His pupils contracted sharply, and he turned to Finnegan to ask, “What’s going on with those three?”
Finnegan looked confused. “What are you talking about?”
Harvey pressed urgently, “Does Theodore know that Lesley is Elara’s true love?”
Finnegan’s face showed a hint of annoyance. Why was Harvey Fisher asking so many questions? He was being way too nosy!
“Yeah,” Finnegan replied dismissively. “He knows. We all know.”
The next second, he heard Harvey gasp sharply. Yet Harvey’s shock seemed utterly ridiculous to Finnegan.
“You were married to Elara for seven years, and you didn’t realize how important Lesley is to her?”
However, Finnegan’s words gave Harvey a new perspective on Theodore. So, Theodore had managed to win Elara over after her divorce because he could tolerate things others couldn’t!
Harvey finally realized that what Theodore had told him was true!
“If she’s not satisfied with me, she can go to other men. But I’ll make sure Elara knows that others are just hotels, while I’m her home!”
Now, Elara had a “hotel” on one side and a “home” on the other! Theodore’s willingness to tolerate Elara’s open relationship made Harvey despise him, yet there was a tiny part of him that felt envious!
“Mr. Harvey, can you still practice with me?” Merida’s voice came from behind Harvey.
Harvey’s chest heaved, and he couldn’t stop himself from coughing several times. He turned to Merida and said, ” Daddy can practice with you for ten hours!”
Merida looked at him. “But… You’re coughing up blood!”

Harvey quickly licked his lips, swallowed hard, and tried to steady his breathing. He explained to Merida, ” Daddy’s just… feeling a bit overheated.”
Finnegan was speechless. It was obvious to him that Harvey was simply overwhelmed with frustration.
