Chapter 360
“Mr. Snapp, congratulations on acquiring Jones Group.”
“Mr. Snapp, does this acquisition mean that things are getting serious between you and Ms. Jones?”
The moment news broke of Theodore and Elara’s relationship, it caused a stir across all of Capitol’s elite circles. Many business figures attended the event not just for appearances, but in hopes of catching some firsthand gossip.
Theodore stood with one hand in his slacks pocket, the hem of his suit jacket creased slightly from the gesture.
“If Elara and I have any good news to share in the future, we’ll be sure to inform you all right away.”
At that moment, the crowd immediately sensed how close he and Elara must be. They clearly really were dating!
“Fantastic! We’ll be waiting for your announcement!”
“Ah, Ms. Jones and her luck in love! Anyone who sees it can’t help but say–what a blessed life she leads!”
As the crowd buzzed with teasing remarks about Theodore and Elara, a portion of the chatter suddenly fell silent. The people standing directly in front of Theodore shifted, their expressions subtly changing.
Theodore followed their line of sight and turned around–just in time to see Harvey approaching, accompanied by his assistant.
Dressed in a sleek black suit, Harvey’s presence radiated intensity. As he strode straight toward Theodore, it felt as though two invisible forces collided in the air, pressing the surrounding crowd to instinctively step back.
Harvey’s gaze lowered, sharp and cold, like a serpent’s chill slithering over bare skin.
If Harvey embodied the perpetual night–damp, oppressive, and unreachable by sunlight–then Theodore was the opposite: a god bathed in warm daylight, radiant and untouchable.
He pulled up the corners of his lips in a bold, unrestrained smile. The fringe of his hair shifted slightly, revealing a smooth, striking forehead.
Completely unfazed by Harvey’s presence, Theodore effortlessly remained in command of the room.
“Mr. Fisher, are you not aware that uninvited guests are like rats in the street? They get thrown out,” he said coldly.
Harvey lifted the invitation in his hand. “I have an invitation.”
“The invitations were written and signed by Elara and me,” Theodore replied, his voice calm but pointed. “But I don’t recall either of us writing your name.”
The word “us” pierced like a thorn in Harvey’s ears.
His gaze toward Theodore grew colder and sharper. He held himself arrogantly as he responded, “The one who sent me the invitation–was my father–in–law.”
In other words, the invitation Harvey held came from Abel.
After being forced to relinquish control of Joss Tech due to the scandal, Abel had been lying low. With the scandal unresolved and the press swarming the event, it was impossible for Abel to show up in person at the acquisition
ceremony.
Even though he no longer held power in Joss Tech, a security guard at the door would still let Harvey in if he presented an invitation under Abel’s name.

Harvey stepped directly in front of Theodore and said, “I’m here today to congratulate Elara and Snapp Group on successfully completing the acquisition deal.”
He glanced around the room, then raised his voice just enough for everyone to hear.
“Though Elara and I are divorced, our bond as husband and wife remains. Abel is still my father–in–law, and Fisher Corp will continue to support the Jones family–as always.‘
His declaration left the room in stunned silence.
The guests–Capitol’s upper echelon–exchanged quick glances, and many immediately sensed something more behind his words.
Was there a chance… that Harvey and Elara might reconcile?
Just then, the sound of flat heels echoed crisply against the polished marble floor. Elara stepped into the acquisition ceremony dressed in a tailored women’s suit.
