Chapter 362
Yet at some point, Harvey stopped needing Elara to do those things for him. He began to reject any affectionate gesture she made toward him.
The disappointment and loneliness in Elara’s eyes had been plain to see, but he ignored it completely. The woman he once dismissed so casually he could never have her again.
The love he had personally discarded was now given to someone else without hesitation. He simply watched as Theodore lowered his head and flashed Elara a brilliant smije.
In that moment, Harvey felt an unbearable emptiness crack open in his chest, a black hole that no feeling could ever fill.
He forced himself to look away and kept repeating to himself that it’s just a brooch. Elara had given him more than one brooch in the past. He wasn’t jealous of Theodore not at all.
After all, he had received so many gifts from Elara before: brooches, ties, watches. But now, he couldn’t even remember where he had put any of them. He couldn’t recall a single design she had chosen.
Well, how could he when he had never cared?
He remembered how she used to give him gifts with hopeful eyes, but he never even accepted them properly. would ask his wife to put them away somewhere, casually, without a second thought.
He remembered opening one of her gifts once–only to say something dismissive about it. He had never worn any of the accessories Elara gave him. Not once.
And yet now, he missed them like a madman. He wanted nothing more than to rush home, dig them all out, and wear them–just to show Theodore.
Theodore glanced at him, a sly, fox–like grin tugging at the corners of his upturned eyes. “Looks good, doesn’t it?”
He was showing off.
“Elara really has great taste,” he added.
He ran a hand gently over the brooch Elara had pinned to his chest, treating it as though it were a priceless
treasure.
Elara slipped her hand through the crook of Theodore’s arm, linking their arms as naturally as she could. Theodore then lowered his gaze to the woman standing beside him. Their bodies touched, fabric brushing against fabric, and their warmth quietly mingled together.
“Ignore him.” Elara’s voice turned cold at the mention of Harvey, devoid of sympathy.
Just as she arrived at the company earlier, she received word that Harvey had shown up holding an invitation personally written by Abel. The security guard, recognizing Abel’s signature, allowed Harvey to enter the hall where the acquisition ceremony was taking place.
Only then did Abel message Elara, telling her he had written the invitation for Harvey himself. He also added that Harvey clearly still had feelings for her.
Still clinging to false hope, Abel advised her to seize the opportunity. Maybe, just maybe, she and Harvey could get back together.
But why on earth would she get back together with him? What could possibly be restored from a shattered mirror? There was no use crying over spilled milk Childhood traum lingered for a lifetime–let alone emotional wounds

from marriage, where one adult drove the blade straight into the softest part of another’s heart.
If Harvey insisted on showing up to stir the pot, then let him see for himself just how much brighter his ex–wife’s life became after leaving him.
Elara and Theodore stepped onto the stage for the signing ceremony and sat behind a long table draped in red cloth. Before the gathered guests and flashing media cameras, she picked up the pen and signed her name on the acquisition agreement.
Then they exchanged contracts and signed each other’s copies, sealing the deal.
When Theodore saw their names side by side on the page, he smiled faintly, and his eyes softened. If he couldn’t sign a lifelong marriage contract with her, then at least this business agreement felt like a commitment for life. Together, they rose, shook hands, and posed for the cameras. Elara picked up her speech notes and stood before the microphone to deliver remarks on behalf of Joss Tech. When she finished, it was Theodore’s turn to speak on behalf of Snapp Group.
He stepped to the mic and flipped open his speech folder–only to find the page inside completely blank.
His sharp eyebrows lifted slightly. He raised his head and immediately caught sight of Harvey in the front row, sitting with one leg crossed arrogantly over the other, smirking at him with a look of blatant provocation.
“That son of a bitch.“.
Theodore cursed silently.
