Niamh’s eyes sharpened as she suddenly shouted, “I know that man! He’s an employee at Joss Tech!”
She raised her voice, trying to convince everyone that the speech folder switch had nothing to do with Harvey. But just then, the footage on the screen shifted, showing the same employee meeting with Harvey alone in a hallway. The entire exchange was caught on video.
Gasps rippled through the crowd as Niamh’s expression changed instantly, her voice catching in her throat. She turned, stunned, and stared at Harvey in disbelief.
Was Theodore’s speech folder really swapped out because of Harvey? But how could Harvey stoop so low?
He had bribed a Joss Tech employee to swap the folder–yet still dared to meet with the guy inside the company building? And he actually went and did it right under a security camera?
Niamh’s face paled as she looked at Harvey in growing panic. But the man being publicly exposed sat calmly in his seat, completely unbothered. It was like the man caught on camera colluding with a Joss Tech employee wasn’t him at all.
Elara watched Harvey cling to his denial, like a man who wouldn’t admit the house was on fire until he was standing in the flames. She said, “Let’s ask the employee what exactly Mr. Fisher said to him.”
The moment the employee realized he’d been caught on camera, panic took over. Countless eyes turned toward him, and his legs visibly began to tremble.
“Ms. Jones, it was Mr. Fisher who told me to do it! He gave me 100 thousand dollars. I can give the money back, please I’m begging you, just give me a second chance!”
Another wave of shock swept through the audience. “So, it really was Harvey Fisher behind it? He’s targeting Mr. Snapp?”
“Well, Mr. Snapp and Ms. Jones are together. It’s only natural Mr. Fisher, as the ex–husband, would be jealous.
pand But come on–this is just petty,”
As Elara publicly exposed him, Harvey let out a cold, dismissive laugh.
“I knew you’d find out. That was the point. I wanted to see what you’d do.
“When I saw you didn’t say anything right away–when you knew the speech folder had been switched–I thought maybe you’d…”
Harvey tasted bitterness in his mouth as he spoke. Without a hint of shame, he asked, “Yes, I paid for someone to do it. So what?
“Elara, are you really going to throw me out in front of everyone–for Theodore?”
All eyes in the room turned to Elara, watching her every move. Harvey had used such a cheap tactic simply because he wasn’t afraid of being exposed.
He had even let the security cameras capture his meeting with the Joss Tech employee. He just wanted to see what Elara would do whether she’d pretend not to know, cover up the truth, or keep swallowing her anger like she
used to.
“You chose the path that disappointed me the most,” Harvey said coldly. “Calling me out in public like this and turning me into your enemy. Elara, this won’t end well for you.”
His words cast a chill over the rooni.

One business mogul whispered, “That move might not have been wise. Publicly humiliating Mr. Fisher? It’s not at smart play.”
Another person beside him added, “Exactly. Offending the CEO of Fisher Corp isn’t good for Jones Group. As her ex -husband, Mr. Fisher came to the merger event between Stopp and Jones–that alone was a big gesture of goodwill.
“Elara should’ve smoothed things over. The speech folder swap was a minor issue, easily brushed off with a few polite words. She shouldn’t have gone after him like that.”
Several others shook their heads and sighed, clearly siding with Harvey due to their stronger connections with
him.
“Elara.”
Theodore stepped forward and gently took Elara’s cold hand into his warm palm.
Harvey’s face stiffened instantly at the sight of their closeness.
“You don’t have to fight him for my sake,” Theodore said in a low, tender voice, the husky edge of his words sending a shiver down the spine. “I already understand how you feel about me.”
He let out a soft sigh, eyes lowering as he spoke with quiet sorrow. “This is my fault. I put you in a difficult position.
“Harvey pulled this petty stunt just to force me out, didn’t he? If my being here brings trouble to you, if it disturbs the peace of Jones Group… Then I’ll do what Harvey wants I’ll break up with you.”
Harvey’s expression twisted the moment he heard that. His face turned pitch black with disbelief, practically shouting one silent thought.
“Keep acting. Go on, you just keep pretending!”
