Chapter 366
“Did Mr. Snapp fall for Ms. Jones back when she was still Mrs. Fisher?”
“I knew there was a reason Mr. Snapp stayed single all these years–turns out he was pining for another man’s wife!”
The guests were buzzing with excitement, completely immersed in the drama. Many were now too restless to stay seated.
“Could it be that Ms. Jones and Mr. Snapp were already involved before her divorce from Mr. Fisher?”
“It’s no wonder Mr. Snapp managed to win her over so quickly! They must’ve been eyeing each other in secret for a while!”
“Are you saying Mr. Fisher divorced Ms. Jones because she cheated on him? Damn!”
The speculation flew wild, even among high–society elites. The juicier the gossip, the more excited they became.
Harvey’s black eyes burned with fierce intensity. If Theodore wanted to ruin his reputation, he’d gladly drag him into the dirt with him.
Theodore wouldn’t get away clean. If he dared covet Harvey Fisher’s woman, he would tear him down from his pedestal!
Faye, the journalist from Gingham TV, chuckled after hearing Harvey’s outburst. “I recall Ms. Jones once saying you couldn’t wait to divorce her, Mr. Fisher. Funny how you suddenly care so much about who she’s with now.”
Elara’s face remained composed. No matter how wild Harvey became, she showed very little reaction.
Harvey didn’t even bother responding to Faye. “You call yourself a journalist, and you still haven’t figured it out? Theodore’s been obsessed with my wife for years!
“And I’ve got the proof to back it up that he’s been watching her for five years!”
your wife.
Faye countered smoothly, “But the two of you are divorced Mr. Fisher. And yet you keep calling her yo Seems like the one who’s never really left this marriage… is you.”
It felt like a massive speaker had exploded inside Harvey’s chest, and the shockwave shook his heart and sent a dull ache through his organs.
They said bystanders saw things most clearly. Since Elara’s divorce, Faye had followed her story closely for work. While everyone else in the room was obsessed with the love triangle drama, only Faye saw through to the truth.
She saw the flicker of hesitation behind Harvey’s eyes–the facade of dominance he put on in front of Elara was Just that: a performance.
Just then, Harvey’s phone began to vibrate. He didn’t plan to answer at first, but Faye’s pointed words had backed him into a corner. The incoming call instantly became his feline.
He glanced down at the screen. The name “Leonard” flashed across it, and Harvey’s expression froze.
A call from Leonard could only mean trouble at a time like this. Harvey’s hand tightened slightly around his still- vibrating phone. He had a strong gut feeling that Leonard was calling because of Elara,
No matter how reluctant he felt, Harvey still answered the call. He knew perfectly well what would happen if he ignored Leonard.
He pressed the phone to his ear and heard Leonard asking. Who told you to go to Joss Tech?”

The voice cut through like it had traveled straight from an ancient glacier–icy and sharp enough to freeze blood on the spot. It sliced through his eardrum like a blade. A cold, frost–like tension spread across Harvey’s otherwise sharp and composed features.
“I came on my own,” he replied stiffly, meeting Leonard’s interrogation head–on.
“Are you not embarrassed enough yet?”
Each word Leonard hurled at him was packed with shards of ice, crashing down on Harvey’s skull expression stiffened.
He turned his head and saw a few journalists raising their cameras again. Then his eyes landed on Elara, who stood calmly, completely unfazed.
This press conference was likely being live streamed. His clash with Theodore had probably already gone out to the public. But Harvey didn’t believe he was losing.
“Uncle Leonard, I have my reasons. I’m doing this for Beau”
Before he could finish, Leonard cut him off. “Don’t use your son as a shield. You look pathetic, hiding behind your
kid like a coward.”
Leonard was only speaking through a phone, but it felt as if the air around Harvey turned to ice.
“Get back here this instant!” Leonard barked.
The order left no room for resistance, no trace of warmth. Harvey could barely breathe.
After the call with Leonard ended, Harvey lowered the phone. When he looked up again, he saw Theodore holding Elara’s hand as they returned to the stage.
Theodore picked up the microphone and declared to the audience, “I want everyone to know that I met Elara Jones before Harvey Fisher did. I saw her before he ever did, sitting in school with her head down, scribbling diligently.
“I saw her behind the wheel of her Corona, racing down dust–choked tracks like she owned the sky. But love doesn’t care who was first. It’s not a race, and there’s no scorecard.
“If someone had loved her, cherished her, protected her, and given her endless happiness, then the world may never need to know that I love Elara.
“But if someone here abandons her, walks away, undermines her at every turn, fails as a husband, and even worse as a father–then yes, I’ll make damn sure the whole world knows that Theodore Snapp loves Elara Jones.”
