Chapter 383
Elara found herself perplexed–was Harvey deliberately asking such foolish questions?
“You’re the CEO of Fisher Corp. You have countless ways to exonerate yourself. I know perfectly well which is easier destroying you or destroying Niamh.”
When Harvey shifted all the blame onto Niamh, Elara had her own calculations. If she had exposed both Harvey and Niamh as co–conspirators then and there, she would have forced them onto the same side.
Since Harvey wanted to ruin Niamh’s reputation, she would let him do the dirty work first. The thought of Niamh being permanently silenced wasn’t entirely unpleasant.
“Harvey, just try pulling another underhanded trick on Theodore again!”
A bleak, mirthless laugh escaped Harvey’s lips. His cuffs were soaked crimson, yet Elara hadn’t shown an ounce of concern. She hadn’t even granted him a glance.
“You may protect Theodore, but I know your heart still leans toward me!” Harvey’s words seemed more for his own ears than hers.
Elara probably avoided looking at him because she didn’t know how to face him. She didn’t comfort him because she knew she couldn’t–not anymore. And this was the reality Harvey himself had created!
As Harvey bowed his head in thought, Elara rolled her eyes elegantly. She truly felt like explaining anything to him would be a waste of breath.
“Elara.”
Theodore approached, coming to stand by her side. The moment Harvey saw him, his brows furrowed deeply. Harvey ignored Theodore completely, directing his question only at Elara, “Now that you’ve taken control of Jones Group, when are you planning to break up with Theodore?”
Elara froze momentarily–apparently, Harvey had discovered her contractual relationship with Theodore. Theodore chuckled. “Do remember your position here, dear ex–husband.”
A nervous tic twitched at Harvey’s eyelid as he growled. “Theodore Snapp, your triumph won’t last long!” Theodore extended his hand to Elara. “As long as Elara thrises, I’ll remain triumphant forever.”
Arm in arm, Elara and Theodore turned together and reentered the glittering banquet hall.
The luxurious crystal chandeliers cast soft, radiant light, bathing the grand hall in golden splendor. Amber liquors in slender glasses shimmered enticingly, their glow intertwining with the ambient lighting.
Just then, a clear, crisp sound rang out as Elara and Theodore touched glasses.
“Thanks to Harvey’s ‘help,‘ Niamh shouldn’t cause any more trouble,” Theodore remarked, his jet–black eyes warm and glowing like polished obsidian under the light.
Elara rested her glass against her lips. “My journey isn’t over yet.”
The man smiled while gently swirling his drink. “Whatever comes, I’ll stand by your side. I always have.”

By the time the banquet ended, night had deepened. As Elara stepped into the parking lot, a chilly breeze brushed against her cheeks like sheer gauze.
Settling into the car, the alcohol’s warmth spread across her face. Her slightly flushed cheeks resembled blooming pink flowers in early spring
Two rosy patches bloomed from her cheeks, diffusing outward until even the tips oa her ears tinged pink.
