Chapter 390
The hospital room door suddenly swung open from the outside. Benjamin entered to find Abel pressing a pillow over Niamh’s face.
Without hesitation, he charged forward, shoving Abel away with his body. Abel s led backward onto the nightstand, still clutching the pillow in both hands.
“What the hell are you doing?” Abel roared at Benjamin as he looked at him, as if the younger man had Interrupted him trying to discipline Nimah.
Benjamin saw Niamh’s eyes rolling back. Her face had turned blue, mouth gaping but unable to draw breath. He immediately administered chest compressions, reviving Niamh just in time.
Abel threw the pillow at Benjamin. “How dare you push me?”
“You nearly killed her!” Benjamin snapped back.
Spittle flew from Abel’s mouth. “She’s disgraced me personally and ruined our family’s standing in Capitol society!”
Benjamin retreated a step with a cold laugh. “Then go ahead and kill her!”
Saving lives was instinctual, but now he regretted intervening. Had he stayed away, Abel might have gone to prison for murder.
That opportunity vanished when he saved Niamh.
Abel’s face twisted grotesquely. “I was just teaching her a lesson! I never intended to kill her!
“Benjamin, come and help me break her legs! Only that will stop her from harming the Jones family again!”
Niamh trembled violently at this moment. She’d feared Abel since childhood, but this was the first time she’d genuinely faced death. A few seconds longer, and she would have been gone.
Terror prickled across her skin in goosebumps, her legs shaking uncontrollably. Only when the warm wetness spread did she realize she’d urinated in fear.
Both men noticed the odor immediately. As Abel cursed, Benjamin said flatly, “It’s a normal stress response. Go change your clothes.”
Niamh was changing clothes in the bathroom when she heard Abel’s furious cursing through the door.
“Now all of Capitol is laughing at me for raising such a daughter! She must be insane for drugging Harvey Fisher and trying to force herself on him!”
Niamh’s body jerked. She immediately pushed the door open and rushed out.
“No, I didn’t! I never drugged Harvey!”
“Your naked videos and photos are circulating everywhere Harvey himself said you drugged him! How dare you deny it!”
Niamh’s eyes nearly bulged from their sockets. “Elara was the one who drugged us! She locked me in that room with Harvey! This was all planned by Elara and Theodore!”
Her voice turned hoarse from screaming at the top of her lungs.
Benjamin asked calmly, “Do you have proof?”

“It had to be her! Ugh… Ahem!” Niamh clutched her chest, her words becoming incoherent from agitation.
Benjamin said, “Mr. Fisher clearly stated you were the one who drugged him.”
“Impossible!” Niamh shrieked. “Harvey wouldn’t say that He knows that bitch Elara drugged him!”
Realizing Niamh still didn’t understand the situation, Benjamin took out his phone. “Here’s the video. See for yourself.”
The footage showed Niamh unconscious on the floor while Harvey’s voice declared, “Niamh used Elara’s name to lure me here. She drugged the champagne and the aromatherapy diffuser, trying to make me lose control!
“I won’t let Niamh get away with this. But I won’t blame Jones Group for a madwoman’s actions. Elara and I were once married, after all-”
Niamh’s hands trembled violently, the phone clattering to the floor. All her energy drained away like frostbitten leaves.
