A small whirlwind swept past Lesley as Theodore went ahead and dashed forward. A vein bulged on Harvey’s temple upon seeing Theodore suddenly pull six and a half feet before them.
Just as he wanted to yell at her, Lesley yelled, “Elara!”
She raised her arm high and waved at Elara.
Elara looked up at her, her bright eyes curving as she smiles.
When Theodore noticed that Elara only had eyes for Lesley, his steps faltered.
At that moment, Lesley overtook him, jogging toward Elara She yelled, “Make way! Everyone make way!”
Harvey suddenly appeared with a wheelchair. On it sat Beau
He used the wheelchair to block Theodore’s path and even tried to ram into Lesley with it.
Theodore stood in the aisle, blocking Harvey’s way.
“This aisle is too small. How could you possibly push a wheelchair through? Take your son and sit at the side.”
Harvey’s face darkened. “Sit at the side? My son won’t be able to see the stage! I want to sit with him in the center!
With that, Harvey picked Beau up and tossed the wheelchair aside. He wanted to carry Beau toward the center seats, but the aisle in front of the seats was narrow, and Theodore remained in Harvey’s way. This prevented him from passing through.
“A good dog doesn’t block the road, Mr. Snapp!”
Harvey’s unhappy tone was laced with a warning.
Theodore didn’t turn around. He merely smiled and replied, “I’m not a good dog. I’m a bad one.”
Once they reached Elara’s side, Lesley was already seated in the empty spot beside her.
Harvey looked like he wanted to stab her.
Theodore walked past Elara. He stopped beside Tilly, bent down, and said, “I just saw that Shirley ran into some trouble backstage. Do you want to go check on her?”
Upon hearing Theodore mention her daughter, Tilly quickly got up. “Thank you, Mr. Snapp. I’ll go check on my daughter.”
Theodore graciously accepted her thanks and took her seat That way, he was seated with Elara too.
As Harvey held Beau, he stood at the side like a large pillar. His brow twitched slightly in an unnatural manner.
“Mommy,” Beau called out to Elara softly.
When Elara looked up at him, Beau immediately shouted, “Xavier, get down! That’s my Mommy!”
Beau stretched his hands out toward Elara while he remained in Harvey’s arms.
In the past, Beau never cared to fight with Merida or Xavier for her embrace. Whenever Elara tried to hold him, Beau would even avoid her. Sometimes, when he saw Merida nestled in Elara’s arms, he would mock her and call her an unweaned baby. She had no idea where Beau had learned such words.

Chapter 397
“Beau, do you want me to hold you because you saw me holding Xavier?”
Elara’s voice was like a clear spring flowing through Beau’s heart. It perked him up.
Beau shouted, “I am your son! Xavier is nothing to you! Why should he be held by you?”
He then looked up and wailed in despair, “You can only hugme, Mommy! You can’t hug Xavier! You can’t!”
Elara gazed silently at the wailing Bean. His little face was scrunched up, and he kept shouting. However, not a single tear fell.
no
“I’m no longer your mommy,” she told him.
“When you were two, you refused to let me hold you. When you were four, you explicitly rejected me.”
His furious shouts from the past still echoed in her ears. “Don’t touch me! You have no right to touch me! Mommy, why
aren’t you from a wealthy family? Stay away from me! How embarrassing!”
When Beau furrowed his brows in anger, his expression was almost identical to Harvey’s.
He was still so young. His little face had yet to fully develop but when he showed disgust and impatience, Elara’s heart quivered.
She felt fear and helplessness. She had blamed herself why couldn’t she become his ideal mother? She had given birth to him, yet she had become a mother unworthy of him
After leaving the Fisher family, Elara no longer tormented herself. Since she was unfit to be his mother in Beau’s eyes, she would simply stop being his mother.
Elara turned her head, her cold gaze landing on Harvey’s face.
Ripples spread through Harvey’s chest. He then heard her say to him, “Mr. Fisher, please take your child and leave. You’re disturbing others who are watching the performance.”
