Chapter 401
The host was clearly more interested in Finnegan and asked “So, Uncle Finn, have you considered finding a girlfriend?”
Finnegan frowned slightly. He didn’t want to remain the center of attention and gossip. His gaze swept past the audience and landed precisely on Elara.
He saw her lips curve into a warm smile, as if she took pride in his popularity.
“Yes, I have.”
Finnegan answered stiffly, his expression serious, as if delivering a formal report.
The mothers in the audience immediately grew excited, many already mentally scanning through eligible unmarried women they knew, eager to introduce them to Finnegan.
A flicker of surprise passed through Elara’s eyes. Finnegan actually wanted a girlfriend? That was truly unexpected.
The next second, Lesley tightly wrapped an arm around Elara’s while her gaze toward Finnegan was full of wariness.
“What’s wrong?” Elara asked, somewhat puzzled.
“I’m protecting our little moon!“”
Elara chuckled, assuming Lesley had noticed the eager interest the parents were showing toward Finnegan, this brilliant young man.
It also occurred to Elara that now that Finnegan had finally relented and decided to look for a girlfriend, she, as his sister, might have a hard time leaving the auditorium afterward.
At that moment, Harvey’s eyes held the same guarded hostility as Lesley’s. His handsome face darkened instantly, his narrow eyes turning icy.
Was Finnegan provoking him? After Elara’s divorce, Finnegan suddenly decided to start considering his own future?
Harvey clenched his jaw, a cold smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“What kind of girl does Finny like?” Theodore’s voice sounded beside Elara.
“I’m not sure.”
Theodore narrowed his fox–like, cunning eyes, pressing his lips together as amusement deepened in his gaze.
“Let’s ask him later,” he said as he leaned back lazily in his seat, with one arm draped casually over the edge of
Elara’s chair.
With a playful smile, he watched Finnegan standing on the stage, as if he had stumbled upon something highly entertaining.
On stage, the teacher handed the microphone to Merida for her award acceptance speech.
“Thank you, Mommy and Lesley, for encouraging me to sign up for the program by myself. Thank you, Uncle Finn, for practicing with me. And Mr. Theodore, who also practiced with me…”

Harvey instinctively held his breath, his eyes filled with anticipation as he waited for Merida to continue. “…and also all the other people who practiced with me for little while!”
The light in Harvey’s eyes dimmed.
Was he just lumped into the category of “other people“? Was he really nothing more than that? That he was not even worthy of a name?
Merida continued while gripping the microphone, “I’d like Ms. Rosalie to come on stage, as promised, and read the apology letter she wrote!”
The moment she spoke, all eyes turned to Rosalie.
Meanwhile, Harold frowned in confusion. “An apology? For what?”
Rosalie instantly felt the weight of countless stares, as if thousands of needles were pricking her face. Her entire body tensed, and she shifted uncomfortably in her seat.
Merida’s childish voice echoed through the auditorium. “Ms. Fisher, you have to keep your word! My performance won the grand prize! Now you have to apologize in front of everyone for saying bad things about me and Mommy!”
