“Theodore!” Elara gasped in alarm.
Still nestled in Theodore’s arms, Bambi hadn’t yet grasped what had happened.
Theodore looked down at her with concern. “Are you hurt, Bambi?”
She blinked her large, dark eyes and shook her head. Only when she got up did she finally see the metal arrow lodged in Theodore’s back.
Her pupils trembled, and she drew in a sharp breath. Looking up, she spotted Beau in the distance, instinctively hiding the crossbow behind his back.
She recognized that arrow–Niamh had given it to him!
Harvey hadn’t expected Beau to do something like this either. His expression turned ice–cold, not just because his son had hurt someone, but because of who Theodore had instinctively protected.
His hands clenched into fists as he bellowed, “Beau Fisher, get over here!”
Beau flinched, visibly shaken. “I just wanted to help you, Daddy! Bambi wouldn’t listen!”
Bambi’s shoulders stiffened. The Beau in front of her now felt like a complete stranger. Harvey snatched the crossbow from his son’s hands and hurled it to the ground with force.
“How dare you shoot at Bambi? I don’t ever want to see you touching these things again!”
Then, lifting his gaze, he saw Elara helping Theodore up.
Theodore, who was tall and lean, leaned against Elara’s slender frame for support.
“Mr. Snapp, are you alright? I’ll call an ambulance!” Elara said anxiously.
“I’m fine,” Theodore replied. “I can still walk. Just take me to the hospital.”
Finnegan strode forward, and said to Elara, “I’ll help him.”
. But Theodore interjected, “Ms. Jones is shorter than me. Leaning on her like this puts less strain on the wound.”
Since Theodore had been injured protecting Bambi, Elara turned to Finnegan and said, “I’ll help him.”
Bambi then walked beside Theodore, clutching his hand tightly.
“Mr. Theodore, are you okay? Does it hurt?”
Theodore smiled lightly. “As long as you’re holding my hand, it doesn’t hurt at all.”
Bambi gripped his hand even tighter, unwilling to let go. A loud engine roar echoed through the air as Niamh pulled up on her motorcycle.
Wearing black knee–high boots, she placed one foot firmly on the ground. Her long legs were sleek and poised. “Elara! Are you really planning to take Theodore to the hospital in a car? He’s got a back injury! Even if he lies down in the back seat, the wound will still get pulled!”
Elara stopped and looked at her. “So, what are you suggesting?”
Niamh smirked. “Let me take Theodore on my bike. That way, he won’t have to strain himself.” Theodore’s response was cold and immediate. “No need. I’m not comfortable riding with strangers.”

Niamh’s face stiffened in embarrassment. “We talked before you went abroad!”
Theodore’s expression remained indifferent. “Oh? And you are…”
Elara felt Theodore’s body grow weaker against her he was losing strength.
“Niamh, get off the bike,” Elara ordered without hesitation
Niamh frowned. “Why should I?”
Then realization dawned on her, and she let out a mocking laugh.
“Elara, don’t tell me you want to ride the bike and take Theodore to the hospital? Riding a motorcycle isn’t the same as riding a scooter. You don’t even have a motorcycle license, do you?”
“Would you like me to shove my license in your face?” Elara had no patience for her nonsense.
She pulled up her digital license on her phone. “Take a good look. I got my motorcycle license before you even knew how to ride a scooter.”
Harvey stepped forward. “I’ll take Mr. Snapp to the hospital. My son injured him, so it’s my responsibility.” His tone carried little sincerity, and his gaze was even colder. It was filled with sharp hostility toward the man leaning against Elara.
The tension crackled like electricity.
Theodore was unfazed as he smirked. “Two grown men squeezing onto a little motorcycle? I’d fall off.”
Finnegan, who had been considering offering to take Theodore himself, silently closed his mouth. Harvey exhaled sharply, his irritation growing. “I’ll have the hospital send an ambulance.”
