Chapter 56
“Let’s all congratulate this man! He’s now free from his shackles, and celebrating his new single life–happy divorce!”
Niamh led the group in holding up a massive banner that read “Congratulations on Your Divorce, Harvey Fisher!” while confetti cannons fired off and air horns blared.
“Mommy, what is Aunt Niamh doing?” Merida asked, thoroughly confused.
Elara squeezed her daughter’s hand and sighed. “She’s making a fool of herself… And dragging Mr. Harvey down with her.”
Elara took a detour around the crowd to avoid the spectacle Meanwhile, Niamh smirked triumphantly as she watched Elara slink away.
Harvey forced himself to approach her. “What the hell are you doing?”
Niamh stood on her tiptoes to throw an arm around his shoulders. “Dude, I’m throwing you a divorce party!”
Harvey pulled away, looking somewhat disgusted. “Keep your voice down. Do you think this is something to be proud of?”
But Niamh wasn’t fazed. If anything, she looked downright delighted now that Harvey and Elara were divorced. “Come on, I’ve already booked the perfect venue. Tonight is your night! We have to celebrate properly!”
Inside a private club lounge that evening, Niamh raised her glass high. “A toast! To Harvey’s freedom! May he never be shackled again–endless ladies, bottomless drinks To a single life forever!”
The room erupted in cheers. “Harvey! Happy divorce!”
Niamh shook her shoulders dramatically, pounding her chest like a gorilla as the crowd hooted in laughter. Meanwhile, Harvey sat on the leather couch, swirling his whiskey. His face was shadowed with unreadable emotions. He then lifted his glass and took a sip of his drink
Somehow, his chest felt tight.
Seven years of marriage, and not once had he been in love with Elara. Now that she was gone, shouldn’t he feel relieved?
But for some reason, it felt like a burning weight was lodged in his chest. He threw back his drink, hoping the alcohol would drown it out.
Niamh plopped down beside him, holding up a whiskey bottle with a mischievous grin.
“To celebrate your glorious return to bachelorhood, I hand–picked a few ladies just for you! Trust Daddy’s taste, okay? The ladies. I choose are surely top–notch!”
The men in the room erupted in excitement. “Niamh! Get us some too!”
She shouted, “You lads gotta call me ‘Daddy‘ first!”
The group laughed and hurled playful curses at Niamh. At that moment, the door to the private lounge swung open, and several heavily made–up women strutted in.
Niamh was full of enthusiasm as she grinned and said, “Harvey, take a look! See if there’s anyone you like. If so,

I’ll have them stay and take care of you.”
She pointed at one of the women with a teasing smirk. “Look at this one! Her chest is so big, It’s like she stuffed
two balls in there!”
Then she gestured to another woman. “Come on, turn around! Let us take a look. Damn! That’s one perky ass!”
Niamh laughed mischievously, behaving completely unruly She knew Harvey had no interest in these plastic- looking women.
The women in the room all wore revealing outfits. Their exaggerated false eyelashes were fluttering, and their thick makeup layered like cement on a brick wall.
Yet, in comparison to them, Niamh appeared even more striking.
She was dressed casually in an oversized baseball jacket and ripped jeans, and her light brown hair was loosely draped over her shoulders.
Her makeup was minimal, giving the impression that she was bare–faced–a look that made the guys around her think she was naturally stunning.
Niamh then refilled Harvey’s whiskey glass. As the man took a sip, his gaze inadvertently landed on a woman standing in the corner.
His eyes narrowed s
Following his line of sight, Niamh’s expression immediately darkened.
The woman in the corner was entirely different from the other women, who were clearly used to the nightlife. They were busy flaunting their extravagant, sultry appearances.
Meanwhile, this one wore a simple white dress, and her long dark hair hung loosely over her shoulders. She looked completely unadorned, almost plain, yet carried an air of innocence and unease.
From the moment she stepped into the lounge, she seemed out of place. It was as if she had stumbled into a den of wolves. Despite her efforts to remain inconspicuous, she had drawn the attention of every man in the room.
Niamh’s face immediately turned cold. She knew exactly why Harvey had taken notice of this woman.
Because the first time Harvey had met Elara, she was also wearing a white dress.
