From the moment Theodore announced he had brought Launa, Niamh wore a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
“She truly lives up to her title as Eucon’s former top female racer–such a diva,” she remarked playfully, though inwardly she was cursing.
Luna retired five or six years ago, yet she was still acting like she owned the racing world!
“She won’t lose,” Theodore stated, his gaze sweeping over everyone before lingering momentarily on Harvey.
His smirk deepened. “None of you can beat her.”
With that, he turned and headed toward Corona
Niamh crossed her arms and called out to his back, “If Luna doesn’t take first place, how about lending me Corona for a spin?”
She was pleased to see Theodore pause mid–step. But where he turned around, his handsome face had gone ice- cold. As the mountain wind brushed past, Niamh felt goosebumps rise along the back of her neck.
“A chihuahua barking at a thunderstorm,” he said flatly without so much as a glance.
“What?” Niamh frowned, not quite grasping his meaning.
Around her, the group erupted in laughter.
“Hahaha! Mr. Snapp just said you were full of hot air!”
“Shut the hell up!” Niamh snapped, immediately kicking the nearest laughing friend.
Meanwhile, Theodore slid one hand into his pocket, tilted his head slightly, and looked straight at Harvey.
“Now that Luna’s here, is Mr. Fisher planning to raise the stakes?”
The prize for first place in this race was an eight–million–dollar Lamborghini Veneno. Harvey didn’t mind letting Theodore use Luna as leverage to make him bleed a little more.
“If Luna wins first place, she can pick any three cars from my garage,” he said.
A chorus of gasps rang out from the young elites. “Mr. Fisher, you’re a real high roller!”
Theodore let out a disdainful chuckle through his nose. “Three cars, plus a complimentary hand–wash service by Mr. Fisher himself–how about that?”
Niamh immediately protested on Harvey’s behalf. “That’s pushing it too far!”
But Harvey, fully aware of Theodore’s deliberate provocation, had his own plans in mind.
“Fine,” he agreed smoothly.
Niamh panicked. “Harvey! How can you lower yourself to washing someone else’s car?”
Harvey simply strode toward his modified race car, Black Hole.
Theodore smirked and turned back toward Corona, locking eyes with Elara, who sat in the driver’s seat. He caught a glimpse of Elara giving him a subtle thumbs–up through the windshield.
Both were dressed in racing
every word Theodore hadits, and their earpieces were clipped in for communication. Elara had clearly heard
to Harvey.

Niamh trailed beside Harvey, still fuming on his behalf. Theodore’s going too far! He’s humiliating your can you agree to this?”
Harvey slid into the driver’s seat, fastening his harness. “That was the Luna Dawn admired more than anyone
Niamh choked on whatever argument she was about to make
She muttered, “Luna retired over five years ago. Dawn worshiped her when she was still at her peak, and when she was the greatest female racer in Eucon.”
Harvey said nothing. Clad in his racing suit, he pulled on his heavy helmet.
It wasn’t that he disliked racing. He had simply refused to engage in anything that could send his adrenaline spiking.

As the head of Fisher family, he needed to remain clear–headed at all times. He knew racing was addictive–so he quit before it could ever become a weakness.
However, Dawn had loved it. Especially after Luna burst onto the scene, Dawn had begged to be taken on as her apprentice.
She had been free to do what he never allowed himself to.
So, Harvey poured money into building a machine that could rival Corona, which was Black Hole. He had planned to give it to Dawn as her 18th birthday gift.
Instead, what he received that day was her cold, lifeless body.
After that, he sealed Black Hole away in the garage, remaining untouched. That was until today, until this race that was coincidentally held on Dawn’s birthday.
Niamh buckled herself into the passenger seat, fastening her straps tightly.
Fueled by determination, she turned to Harvey with a fierce grin. “Then let’s beat Luna in this race and show Dawn just how incredible her big brother really is!”
