Chapter 96
Beau, who was raised under the careful guidance of the Fisher family, had seen plenty of powerful figures and grand occasions. Yet, as he stood by Corona’s door to greet Dina, his heart pounded with nervous excitement.
However, the person inside the car remained silent.
“Luna?” Beau called out as he stood on tiptoe, craning his neck curiously to peek inside.
Niamh stepped out of her car and immediately felt a sense of crisis upon seeing both father and son standing by Corona’s door.
She strode over. “Luna, right? I’ve heard so much about you, I also ride heavy motorcycles. How about a one–on- one race? Let’s see what you’ve got.”
Harvey had lost to Luna, so Niamh wanted to win back some dignity for him. She knew Luna was a professional race car driver, and she had heard that Luna also rode motorcycles.
Yet in Niamh’s mind, Luna’s skills on a bike couldn’t possibly be at a professional level.
Plus, considering how much stamina Luna had burned during the off–road tournament, Niamh believed she had a high chance of winning if they competed now.
However, the woman inside the car remained silent.
Annoyed, Niamh pressed on. “Come on, don’t be so aloof. You’re already here, let’s have some fun.”
Beau’s eyes lit up. “Luna can ride motorcycles too?”
His admiration for her grew even deeper.
Niamh smirked at this. If Luna lost to her, Beau’s attention would shift back where it belonged–to her.
Harvey’s gaze dropped to the business card lying at his feet.
She was just a woman with no sense of her place, who was being held up in Theodore’s hands like some treasure. She had forgotten herself so quickly.”
“I’ll give you a million dollars to entertain Niamh with a rade.”
Harvey was used to being in control, and everything could be bought in his world.
Elara almost laughed out loud. So, this was how far Harvey’s indulgence of Niamh had gone?
The man pulled out his phone, displaying a QR code for payment, expecting Elara to scan it. Even so, even acknowledge him.
she didn’t
Instead, she leaned slightly toward Theodore and whispered something in his ear. Harvey’s brows furrowed as he watched them murmur in such close proximity.
Something about the way they interacted, so effortlessly intimate, irritated him in a way he couldn’t quite explain.
Theodore listened to Elara and nodded in agreement.
Π
He turned to Harvey and said, “Luna says she’ll race. But if she wins, this ‘gender–ambiguous individual‘ has to get off the bike and run to the finish line. However far they lose by, that’s how far they have to run.”
“Who are you calling gender–ambiguous?”
Niamh’s temper flared. She glared at Elara and snapped, “Hey! Take off your helmet and look properly! I’m all

woman, damn it!”
She reached through the car window, aiming to pull off Ela’s helmet.

Theodore’s eyes darkened. With a sharp press of a button, the car’s window shot up–trapping Niamh’s arm.
“Ack!” Niamh let out a shriek, her face instantly flushing a deep shade of red..
The window lowered again, and Theodore rested one arm casually on the back of Elara’s seat, his expression cold and unyielding
It was clear–he was protecting her.
“No manners at all,” he said icily.
Niamh instinctively flinched, shaken by the sheer authority in his voice.
She took a step back while clutching her sore arm. Her eyes were bloodshot with frustration as she turned to Harvey, silently begging him to back her up.
After the high–speed race, Harvey’s nicotine craving kicked in. He lit a cigarette, letting it dangle from his lips. The ember at its tip glowed red as wisps of smoke curled around his sharp features, making him look even more untammed and reckless.
“Are you racing her or not?” Harvey asked flatly. “Fair bet?”
Niamh shook out her arm, steeling herself. “Fine! I’ll race ber! But listen up, Luna–if you lose, you’re getting off that damn bike and crawling to the finish line!”
Elara pushed open the car door and stepped out.
“Deal.” She deliberately spoke in Melcinian. Her tone and inflection were altered to disguise her voice.
Beau’s head tilted up as his wide eyes fixed on Elara’s figure. He scratched the back of his head, murmuring to himself, “Mommy?”
He had heard Elara speak Melcinian before.
