The breaths of two people intertwined. Lucy tried her best to control her breathing as she looked at the person in front of her.
Christopher stared straight at her, his deep voice commanding, “Say it again.”
“I said, I want to move out.”
She thought, where Emily lived didn’t matter, what mastered was where she lived.
Since they were divorced, she could completely choose a place that made her happy.
Especially after he got another woman pregnant while they were still married.
Christopher, however, laughed as he listened. The hand he had tucked in his pocket suddenly came out, gripping her chin and forcing her to lift her head.
Yet, it was still the same words. “Say it again.”
He was domineering and willful, as if nothing he did was ever too much.
She could feel her pulse, as if it beat solely for him.
But…
But last night, he had already completely extinguished her love for him.
Lucy looked at his ink–black eyes, choking back a sob.
Yes, she wanted to leave him.
This man who was driving her to the brink of madness.
Since he didn’t love her and had no intention of starting this marriage, why should she trap herself in the cage he had drawn?
“No.” He firmly denied her.
“Why not?” she dared to ask again.
Why did he have the right to forbid her?
The sensation of Christopher gripping her chin was peculiar. He glanced at her there briefly, then quickly let go.
His hand returned to his pocket, but he propped his other hand against the wall beside her. His deep, hypnotic voice sounded. again, “Because no one knows we’re divorced yet.”
“Then when will you let them know?” she asked again.
Since she had already been sentenced, why couldn’t he give her a deadline?
She knew he was worried the leaders wouldn’t agree, but there had to be a limit.
“Why are you in such a hurry? I’m the one who should be in a hurry.”
Helloked domineering, yet the hand in his pocket was clenched tightly.
“In that case, I’ll talk to the elders myself. I’ll tell them it’s me who wants the divorce, that I don’t want to…”
She didn’t know why, but she suddenly couldn’t continue.
Looking into his eyes, she thought perhaps she shouldn’t have said that.

“That is, that is…” Her voice grew weaker and weaker.

Faced with his relentless questioning, she almost forgot that they were already divorced. She almost forgot that he already had someone to protect for the rest of his life.
What was she supposed to explain to someone like him?
“So what if I like someone else? We’re divorced,” she reminded him.
Although she wasn’t as domineering as he was, it didn’t mean she would let him lead her around.
There was no need to answer such a personal question from him.
“We haven’t gone to the Civil Affairs Court yet, we’ve only signed the divorce agreement.
Lucy, don’t let anyone know that the young mistress of the Dale family is putting a green hat on her husband, okay?”
A cold feeling gradually spread over her. She didn’t understand his meaning. She was angry.
Although the one who falls in love first was often the more vulnerable one, that didn’t mean she had to let him humiliate her.
His cold and piercing gaze seemed to imply that she had betrayed him, betrayed their marriage.
But clearly, for the past two years, she had been staying at the Dale family’s mansion every night. How could she have betrayed him?
At 23, she once thought that love was a pure and simple thing, but now…
She gathered her courage and suddenly asked, “Why are you here so late?”
“Mm?” Christopher had just been lost in thought, his gaze on her, and her stubborn expression made him think of other things.
“Emily lives downstairs, this place…”
“This is the private residence I gave you.” He interrupted her.
Kight, this was the private residence he gave her, and he still remembered it
She lowered her head, unable to hold back a muttered remark, “I’ve never heard of a man giving his ex–wife a house upstairs from his current girlfriend.”
He suddenly moved closer. “What did you say?”
