Chapter 15 Lucy and Christopher Might Divorce
Lucy looked at the person eating her pancakes and wanted to snatch them away. How dare Christopher eat her breakfast while insisting she stay? He lowered his head, savoring the pancakes as if they were a delicacy.
“Why?” Lucy asked, confused. She felt that if she left the Dale family, Christopher, and Emily would finally be at ease. Lucy may find relief too.
“Many people are aware that the death of your parents is linked to the Dale family. If you leave, it will tarnish our family’s reputation and paint the Dale family as inhuman. Furthermore, it would negatively impact the company’s development.” Christopher explained.
Lucy was baffled. “What does that have to do with the company’s development?”
Christopher met her gaze, “A family business with a reputation of being inhuman–what do you think that implies?”
Lucy was so anxious, yet she didn’t know what to say. What he said made sense. But did that mean she had watch him build a life with another woman?
“But…..” Lucy didn’t want to be trapped here. Before she could finish her sentence, the doorbell rang.

“Go answer the door first.” Christopher said indifferently. Lucy stood up to open the door. Sure enough, it was Hayley. “Good morning, Hayley.” Lucy greeted.
“Morning, did you go for a workout?” Hayley asked.
“Oh, yes. Lucy replied. In actuality, she decided not to go to the office today, so she was dressed casually.
“Have you had breakfast?” Hayley inquired as she walked in. She saw that there was no one in the living room so she went to the dining room.
As she saw the food on the dining table, she immediately turned around to see Christopher approaching. Hayley grabbed Lucy’s hand and said, “Sweetie, I had forgotten that you don’t know how to cook. Starting tonight, don’t worry about cooking anymore. Tell me the password to the house, I’ll arrange for someone to cook for you.”
“What?” Lucy’s mind went blank. Hire someone to cook for them? That’s…… Panic surged as she looked to Christopher for help, but he remained fixated on his pancakes.
Lucy had no choice but to walk over and say, “Mr…. Mr Dale.”

“What Hayley said was right, I can’t be eating pancakes every morning, can I?” Christopher calmly replied as he wiped his hands with a napkin.
But if they hired someone, wouldn’t the secret of them not living together be exposed? She didn’t care, but……..
“Okay Lucy replied softly while thinking internally that she had to clarify things today. No, they should first go to the courthouse to start with divorce proceedings.
“It’s nearly time for work, Lucy. Go upstairs and change your clothes. I’ll have a word with your husband.” Hayley informed her, turning to Christopher.
“Alright.” Lucy answered, heading upstairs. Hayley sat across from Christopher and lightly knocked on the table. Christopher looked up and said, “What do you want to say?”
“Why is Emily living in the unit below you? Hayley asked. Christopher shot her a glance and replied calmly, “How are you so
well–informed?”
‘Are you kidding me? Aren’t there already enough rumors surrounding you two already? Yet you still have her move here, isn’t this adding fuel to the fire? Besides, how would Lucy feel if she knew?” Hayley could hardly contain her voice as she asked.
Christopher, with a faint smile, responded nonchalantly, “They’ve met before.”
“What?” Havdru’s pups almost nonned out of their sockets “It was Emily’s birthday yesterday” Christonher clarified “So?”

“Lucy and I might be getting a divorce.” Christopher admitted without hesitation.
