Chapter 31: Stay With Me
“Well, my work here is done,” Amanda said quietly
“Wait.” Sarah said, grabbing her weist when Amanda moved away.
Amanda’s brow rose and Sarah slumped. She couldn’t control the guilt she felt. “You shouldn’t leave. I’m not going to go off without you,” she said sincerely.
Amanda’s face softened. “Hey, it’s cool, I promise.” She looked sincere as she rubbed a hand up and down Sarah’s arm affectionately, “I put off a lot of work to accompany you today. I am just handing you over to the nanny” She joked
Sarah pulped and nodded. “If you’re sure.”
A laugh escaped past her lips as she smacked Sarah’s shoes playfully. “Chill, Go and have fun with your new boyfriend”
Sarah spluttered “Hush. We are not rushing on Labeling It’s a slowburn.”
Amanda squeezed her hand “ht be happy, Sarah. I want nothing more than that for you.” They looked over at the sound of a cat horn. Amanda took her leave and slipped away. Sarah was right behind her. With a wave of goodbye, Amanda hopped inside her can and left without another worder gesture.
Sarah felt another surge of guilt wash over her as she stumbled over to where William was waiting for her.
“Hey.” She smiled once she was inside William’s car.
His response was to launch himself over to be side of the car and ash his mouth against hers, Sarah yelped in surprise but quickly relaxed into his embrace. His lips were soft, his breath warm and tasted like cinnamon. She could smell cigarettes him mixed with his cologne. His hand wandered everywhere as if to best that she was really there with him.
“Wazam,” she sighed against his lips just as her back slipped down the car door and onto the leather seats, I felt cool against her burning skin
“Sarah,” he exhaled her name like a wisp of smoke during winter “You make everything else go away.”
“You too.” she panted truthfully and slid her fingers through his hair. She slowed down her side of the kissing until he finally took a deep breath and then buried his face in the crook of her neck. She could feel his heart slamming inside his chest in a frenzied brat,
“W☺ am?” she started softly. “What’s wrong?”
He shook his head. “It’s nothing,” he said, rubbing the side of his face and hits.
pushed him back an inch to look into his eyes “Tell me.”
“Come home with me.” He stared back at her.
Sarah blinked “What?”
Buy the night with me. A my house.” William pushed the hair from her face with his hands. “I’ve had a terrible day and I need something good in my life. Stay with me?

She brushed the hair on his forehead and leaned in to press her lips to his cheek. “Will you tell me what is wrong if I stay with you?”
His hands tensed on her hips. He shook his head. “It’s company matters I can’t” He paused and drew back. Sarah tilted her head, waiting. He took her face between his hands and pulled her back in him so that they were lossings “Not tonight, okay? I just want to be with you and only you”
It hurt her to dusk that he was not comfortable enough to her to tell her what was wrong Clearly, it was not only because of work. The tone of his voice earlier was off and it couldn’t be just because of work, if it was some huge issue at work, she didn’t have the talent of capacity to solve it for him. She felt helpless for being so worthy

“What’s wrong?” William asked, “Are you okay with staying with me? I mean. If you don’t want to. You don’t have to. I can drop you off at your apartment— *William,” Sarah sighed. “Shut up,”
He laughed softly and star pushed him away and beckoned him to start driving. They were ten minutes into the drive to his home when Williamceived a call that had him turning to her with an apologetic look on his face.
“That was the vice president,” he groaned. “I have to make a stop eat before we can go to my place. It’s work–related”
she shrugged and looked forward to the road. She felt his hand on her love and he slid it up to her thigh, then to her chin, where he gently brought her face to look at him.

Sarah’s eyes mantowed. “I know how long it takes those in and out meetings to end” The last time he had called this while in one of them, she had heard the sound of women and there was alrolol inolved. She couldn’t just stay in the car while he went inside,
“I don’t want to wait in the car,” she said softly. I know it sounds like I don’t trust you, but I just don’t want to stay in the car I will stay outside the room, I promise.”
