The comments were flying:
[Sarah wasn’t lying? She has cancer? She is
going to die?]
[Is Sarah the one who helped pay for Liam’s
school? He wouldn’t even be a doctor if it
wasn’t for Sarah.]
[So Jake didn’t get the call? Lily lied?]
Lily’s eyes started watering. “Why are you
doing this to me? Why do you hate me so

She’s going to die for sure.]
Jake looked at the comments clenching his

Liam stared blankly, not saying a word.
Then Jake’s phone rang.
The director answered.
It was Mary. She sounded happy.

“Are you mad? Do you want to beat us up?
Come here. Sarah and I are waiting.”
She gave another address.
“SA–RAH!”
<
Jake yelled, face red.
He punched a vase, cutting his hand.
Mom got angry and wanted to leave.
Then Liam ran out the door toward the
address.
His camera crew followed him.
“Mr. Smith!” The director looked lost.
“Go.”
Jake said.
