Jake’s assistant brought me back to reality.
Surprise washed over me.
Jake actually went and looked for my
number?
That was something new.
Jake always only used his resources for Lily.
I floated closer to him.
He was staring at the number on the slip of
paper, frowning.

[What’s he waiting for? Call Sarah and
confront her.]
[They haven’t talked in three years. Maybe he
feels awkward?]
[Call her! Get her on the show. Show
everyone what a awful person she is.]
[I bet she’s too ashamed to come. She burned
all her bridges with the Smiths.]
The producer was getting antsy, pushing their
star to do something.
“Mr. Smith, maybe you should…”
Jake glared at him and the director shut up.
But then, the director was grinning
Г
Jake’s phone was ringing.
Everyone held their breath.
I didn’t care.
There was no way this was going to work.
I’m a ghost.
But then, someone picked up.
And I jumped.
Then Jake exploded.
“Who the hell is this?”
“Where’s Sarah?”
