Chapter 8
I heard that Rachel argued with Xavier for a long time about their wedding, insisting on changing what was supposed to be a private ceremony into a fully livestreamed event.
She was truly foolish. What was the point of a public wedding spectacle? Xavier wanted to give her low–key protection, but she simply didn’t
understand.
I silently counted the days, waiting for their wedding day to arrive. I wanted to witness them face everything that was coming, standing before the world
as husband and wife.
After that class reunion, I received an anonymous video recording.
A former classmate added a note: [Caleb didn’t commit suicide. I’m sorry. I was afraid to tell you before because I feared Rachel’s retaliation.]
Caleb… no one had mentioned that name for a long time.
That night, I watched the video over and over again, finally learning the true reason behind his fall from the rooftop–the day I had planned to confess my feelings to him. It turned out everything was connected to me.

On Xavier and Rachel’s wedding day, I sat glued to the screen watching the livestream, my eyes never leaving the scene.
Chapter 8
Rachel, dressed in a haute couture wedding gown, gracefully walked down the aisle carpeted with white roses toward the altar. Xavier stood there waiting patiently, his eyes filled with tenderness.
The scene was truly blissful and romantic.
Under the minister’s witness, they exchanged heartfelt vows, solemnly promising to remain faithful to each other forever, through sickness and health, till death do them part.
However, just as they were about to seal their vows, everything changed dramatically.
A video suddenly went viral online, filmed on the school rooftop.
In the footage, a younger Rachel’s face was clearly visible, standing beside a boy who looked remarkably similar to Xavier–it was Caleb.
Snowflakes were falling heavily from the sky as Rachel stood at the edge of the rooftop, her figure swaying dangerously close to the edge.
She tearfully confronted Caleb, “Would you rather watch me die than be with
me?”

Caleb’s face showed clear impatience. “How many times do I have to tell you? I already have someone I like. Can’t you understand that?”
Rachel refused to believe him and pressed on, “Who do you like? There’s no one prettier than me in the whole school!”
“Is it… that bitch Sabrina?”

“Why her? I’ve liked you for two years! I would die for you! Would she?”
Hearing his crush being insulted, Caleb let out a cold laugh. “Rachel, I know exactly what kind of person you are.”
“Your little tricks might work on Xavier, but not on me.‘

“I’ll say it one more time–hand over Sabrina’s photos. If you dare bother her again, I’ll kill you!”
Rachel’s eyes widened.
After a long silence, she shrugged and said mockingly, “You have terrible taste. Do you know how many people like me?”
“You’re nothing but the least favored child in the Warren family. What gives you the right to act so high and mighty?”
“You want Sabrina’s nude photos? Fine, come and get them!”
“If you can’t get them, don’t blame me for sharing them with the world, letting every man see that bitch’s body!”
With that, Rachel pulled out a memory card from her pocket and held it up
high.
However, just as Caleb rushed toward her, she suddenly ducked down.
That day, the rooftop floor was slippery, and the wind was particularly biting.
Caleb, the boy I had feelings for, fell like a butterfly carried away by the wind.
I still remember the oppressively dark sky that day. He had ruffled my hair

and asked me to wait for him after school so we could walk home together.
I had nodded, blushing, clutching the confession letter I’d written in my desk.
But he never came back that day.
That unsent letter is still treasured in my backpack to this day.
