Chapter 22 I Will Divorce Her (1)
It hit Eliana like a bolt from the blue. Her shoulder bag dropped to the ground, and her eyes stung as if sand had gotten in them. She felt terribly, terribly hurt. They were unbearable.
Finally, unable to control her emotions, she turned and ran back out the front door.
Samuel had turned around when he heard the noise
Seeing Eliana was home, he quickly sat Chloe down on the sofa. Just as he was about to turn and call out to Eliana, Chloe grabbed him and wouldn’t let go.
“Sam, what are you doing? Don’t leave me.” Again with the clinginess, Samuel thought.
“I’m just going over there to get something. I’ll be right back.”
Samuel firmly removed Chloe’s hand and strode out of the villa.
Just as Eliana was about to leave the courtyard, Samuel called out to her, “Eliana!
She stopped in her tracks, tears streaming down her face.
But she didn’t cry out loud, just stubbornly straightened her back while facing away from him.
Samuel said, “What are you making a fuss about now? Chloe can’t see right now, and her legs aren’t better. I was just helping her.”
“Helping her?”
Eliana wiped the tears from her cheeks, turned around, and looked at the man on the steps with hatred, angrily shouting, “Does helping her require holding her so tightly, require kissing her? Samuel, you clearly have feelings for her. You can admit you like pretty women, no one would think you’re a jerk, because that’s just in the nature of guys.”
Samuel didn’t speak, but his face became more fixed like stone with every word his wife said.
Eliana continued shouting. “You like her, otherwise you wouldn’t have brought her back here. This is our marital home, the home you bought for me. My home. Do you find it exciting to kiss and make love with other women in our marital home?”
“Eliana,” Samuel scolded harshly, “Looks like you never learn your lesson. Since you like to make unreasonable scenes so much, then leave. If you leave, don’t come back to me.”
He was truly
angry now, he spun round and returned to the house.
Earlier, it was only because Chloe was about to fall, so he just held her steady.
‘How did it become kissing in Eliana’s words?
‘Such an inconsiderate woman, is he keeping her just to upset himself?”
Eliana felt a suffocating pain in her chest.
She could barely breathe, feeling as if the whole world was abandoning her.

With tear–filled eyes, she looked at the receding back of the high and mighty man, responding hopelessly. “Fine, I’ll go. You don’t need the child anyway, and you certainly don’t need me, this troublesome fake wit
le marital home for
yourselves. I’ll just leave”
Tears blurred her vision as she turned and ran out of the courtyard.
Hearing her shoes crunching rapidly away on the gravel driveway, Samuel turned round and raised his hand, wanting to call out to her again, but pride prevented him from giving in.
Damn her he thought, slamming his fist hard against the open door.
After a while, he looked again in the direction Eliana had disappeared and took out his phone to call his assistant, Ethan.
Ethan answered immediately, “Mr. Nelson?”
“Find Eliana, give her some money, and keep a close eye on her.”
“Yes, sir.”
After hanging up, Samuel returned to the living room.
Chloe sat on the sofa, having clearly heard the loud argument at the door earlier.
She smirked triumphantly, her eyes full of arrogance.
An inexperienced college student fighting her for this man was ultimately too green,
Samuel sat down next to Chloe and said in a deep voice, “Do you really have to stay here?”
He knew this was the marital home he bought for Eliana, and it wasn’t appropriate to have another woman stay here.
But Chloe cried, “Sam, am I causing you trouble? I came back here just wanting to get along peacefully with Eliana. If you think I shouldn’t stay here, I’ll leave.”
She pretended to fumble as she stood up, bumping into the table in front of her as she walked.
Seeing she was about to trip over the table again, Samuel quickly raised his hand to steady her and sit her down. “Alright, it’s the same wherever you are. Stay.”
“Sam, do you really like Eliana that much? Like her so much that you can’t bear to be apart from her, to divorce her?” Samuel was silent. He couldn’t deny that Eliana indeed occupied an important place in his heart.
But her immaturity and unreasonable behavior were truly exhausting him.
He bent over, resting his arms on his knees, burying his head, not knowing how to resolve the situation with these two
women
Chloe, faking understanding, cried again, “Sam, it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t lost my chance to be a mother, and no one wanted me, I wouldn’t have come to you and ruined your marriage. It’s all because I carelessly crashed into your car back then, causing you to-
Samuel couldn’t stand her talking about this. He interrupted her. “Chloe, stop. It’s my fault. I said I’d take responsibility for you, and I definitely will.”
As if suddenly making up his mind, Samuel took out the divorce papers he had prepared earlier from the drawer and said in a deep voice, “I will divorce her as soon as possible.”
