“That’s weird. Why is Brynn taking so long to open the door?” Victoria muttered to herself, taking off her headphones and walking toward the door.
She asked, “Brynn, what are you doing at the door? Who is it?”
Startled by the footsteps behind her, Brynn quickly closed the door slightly, turning around to block Victoria’s view
“Nothing. My friend needs to talk to me. I might have to go out for a bit,” she said.
Victoria didn’t suspect anything and smiled gently at Brynn. “Sure. Don’t stay out too late.
“I know,” Brynn responded, pushing Chase out the door and following him out.
After the door was closed and they had walked a short distance away, Chase asked, “Who was that?” He thought, ‘Could that middle–aged woman be Brynn’s mother–in–law?‘
“It’s none of your business,” Brynn said indifferently.
Chase shrugged, not pressing further.
“Here you are.” He handed the bouquet to Brynn. “The freshest roses. I had them flown in. Just smell it.”
Brynn didn’t even bother to look at the flowers, let alone take them. She turned her head slightly with a flicker of disgust in her eyes. “Let’s talk over there.”
Hearing that, Chase thought she was really going to give him a chance, so he didn’t care whether she accepted the flowers or not. He just nodded.

“What else can I do? Of course, I’m going to make you remember how good I am,” Chase said with madness in his eyes.
He said, “Believe me, once you try this with me, you’ll realize that I’m ten thousand times better than your husband.”
Ignoring Brynn’s struggle, he lowered his head and kissed her.
Brynn clenched her fists, feeling disgusted, but she didn’t struggle desperately. And Chase, sensing that she wasn’t resisting so much, was overjoyed.
