Back at the villa, Brynn had just opened the door when Victoria, who had been waiting in the living room, rushed over to her anxiously. “Brynn, where have you been? I called you but you didn’t answer.”
Victoria looked at Brynn with a worried face. “Is everything okay?”

Brynn felt touched, and she smiled and shook her head. “It’s no big deal, and it’s already settled,” she said as she sat down on the couch, feeling a little tired.
The entrance was dimly lit, while the living room lights were brighter. When Victoria saw her torn clothes, she instantly understood what had happened.
In an instant, a surge of anger welled up in her heart. “Who did this to you? I’m going to find someone to kill him.”
Victoria slammed the table in anger, wishing she could immediately pin the scum who bullied Brynn to the ground and beat him up. She thought, ‘How dare he hurt my future daughter–in–law? He’s asking for trouble!
Brynn wasn’t startled by Victoria’s excited reaction. Instead, she felt a surge of warmth in her heart. During more than twenty years in the Everett family, Maris had never shown this much concern for her.
If Maris knew she had been harassed, she would probably just blame her, saying she brought it upon herself.
Although she hadn’t known Victoria for long, the latter treated her like her own daughter. She often wished that she were her daughter.

Brynn kept grabbing Victoria’s hand and explained with a wry smile, “I’m fine, really. The jerk who tried to harass me has been sent to the police station.”
Hearing that, Victoria finally calmed down a bit but was still angry. “You did the right thing, but I’m still mad.”
She thought, ‘Although that guy was sent to the police station, Brynn was still harassed. Damn it, does he think Brynn has no one to back her up?‘
Brynn looked at Victoria and said with a smile, “I’m really okay. Security arrived in time, so I wasn’t hurt. Don’t be mad. It’s not worth it to get angry over scum like him.”
