Brynn, unaware of the gossip about her, went downstairs to make breakfast after sending the message. Just as she entered the kitchen, however, Dominic initiated a video call.
Slightly surprised, Brynn still answered immediately.
“Good morning,” Dominic said with a gentle smile as he looked at Brynn’s face on the screen. Seeing her face so early in the morning was truly refreshing.
“Morning.” Brynn smiled back. “Where are you? Did you just get off the plane?”
“Yeah, I just got off,” Dominic replied, turning the camera to show her the airport surroundings.
As the camera approached, Alan subconsciously poked his head out and waved.
He only flashed across the screen for a second, but Brynn still caught him. “Wait, that person who just waved looked familiar.”
She thought he looked a lot like that high–ranking official from Montivara who was always active on social media.
“Really? Maybe it’s because you rarely see foreigners, so you think they all look the same,” Dominic explained.
Brynn thought about it and agreed. After all, given Dominic’s status, she didn’t think he would know with such a big shot.
“You’re right. Foreigners‘ faces can be hard to tell apart.” Brynn couldn’t help but laugh. “I heard they say the same thing about us.”
“Well, do you agree that I’m more handsome than them?” Dominic teased with a smirk, “They say people from Montivara have sharp features. Will you dislike me after seeing them?”
Brynn was rendered speechless, both amused and exasperated. “You’re such a jealous man. How can you be jealous of something like this?”
“So, do you prefer me or them?” Dominic asked again.
Seeing Dominic getting closer to the camera, Brynn couldn’t help but blush. She thought, ‘Come on, stop using your good looks to bewitch me!‘
“You’re the most handsome. I like you best. Does that make you happy?” Brynn huffed.
Hearing the answer he wanted, Dominic’s smile widened. “I like you best too, babe. You are the most beautiful woman to
me.”
Dominic’s handsome face, deep voice, and sweet words made Brynn blush uncontrollably.
“Are you sure you don’t need anything?” Dominic mentioned the message he sent Brynn last night. “It’s not every day I’m abroad. It feels like a waste to go back without buying anything.”
Brynn thought for a while but shook her head. “No, I’m fine.”
“My friend always brings gifts for his wife when he’s on business trips. I don’t want to seem like I care less than him. He’d never let me live it down,” Dominic said.
Seeing Dominic acting pitiful again, Brynn couldn’t help but smile, thinking, ‘Is this what guys‘ competitive spirit looks like?
It’s kind of cute.‘
Brynn thought hard and finally remembered the bag she wanted. “How about a bag? I’ll send you the details and a picture.”

“Okay,” Dominic said softly.
They chatted for a while longer before reluctantly hanging up.

Alan, who had been waiting patiently, felt like he was about to burst from all the sweetness. Seeing Dominic finally end the call, he stepped forward to inquire about the next item on the agenda.
“Mr. Johnson, where are we going next? Should we head straight to the embassy?” he asked.
“No.” Dominic waved his hand with a smile still playing on his lips. “Let’s go to Montrevia first.”
Alan was momentarily stunned, then his face turned awkward. “Mr. Johnson, I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
