Dominic, who had been reading the message Brynn had sent him about the bag, slowly looked up at Alan.
“Why not?” Dominic sounded unpleasant.
Alan felt a chill run down his spine at Dominic’s tone. He carefully chose his words, trying to make them more acceptable.
“Mr. Johnson, please don’t misunderstand me. It’s not that I don’t want to hand over Montrevia to you. It’s just that, even though the street falls under my jurisdiction, the profits involved are huge. I’m not the only one getting a cut,” said he.
Alan thought his meaning was clear enough.
This street was the most prosperous comercial street in Montivara, and the income from this one street for a month could equal the annual GDP of several countries combined.
However, if their partnership worked out this time, the benefits would far outweigh the profits from just one street. If Dominic insisted on taking it, it was probably going to cost him a lot.
“I see,” Dominic said with a ke
look.
Alan felt a surge of joy. He thought Dominic had taken his words to heart.
However, the next second, Dominic asked, “Is the car to Montrevia ready?”
Alan thought, ‘Damn, Mr. Johnson was set on Montrevia. He couldn’t afford to offend him, so for the sake of their future cooperation, he decided to compromise.
Alan took a deep breath and clenched his fists, saying firmly, “Mr. Johnson, if you really want ownership of Montrevia, I’m willing to transfer my share to you, but I can’t speak for the others.”
Just as he braced himself for the painful sacrifice, he heard Dominic’s nonchalant voice. “I think you’re overthinking it.”
Alan was stunned. “What?” He didn’t get it.
Dominic said, “I’m not interested in what you’re talking about, and I wouldn’t even look twice at it. I’m going there to buy my wife a bag.”
Alan finally breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time, he felt an overwhelming sense of absurdity.
“Sorry, I got you wrong,” he said.
Alan felt aggrieved. No one knew how long he spent mentally preparing himself.
Although Dominic saw the grievance in Alan’s eyes, he couldn’t help but let out a light snort.
He admitted that he deliberately misled Alan, but he didn’t think he was being excessive. After all, Alan just tried to get Brynn’s attention in front of him, which almost exposed him.
Dominic was on his way to Montrevia while Brynn, after hanging up the phone, continued to make breakfast.
She was in a good mood, so she couldn’t help but hum a song.
“Mom, is there any good news?” Zoe, who had woken up in a daze, came downstairs and was standing at the door of the kitchen, looking at Brynn curiously, yawning.
Brynn coughed lightly, but she didn’t think it was necessary to tell Zoe what happened. “Well, I’m happy because I can see such a cute girl like you every day when I open my eyes.”

Brynn smiled and walked up to Zoe, bent down slightly, and rubbed her head.
Zoe was immediately amused by Brynn and hugged her leg happily.
“I’m the cutest baby and your favorite child in the world, right?” Her bright eyes widened as she looked at Brynn.
Brynn felt her heart melt when she looked at this soft and cute little girl. “Of course, I love Zoe the most.”
She looked at Zoe and thought, ‘What a lovely girl. If only I had such an adorable daughter. Gosh, I want to live with her forever.’
“I love Mom the most too,” Zoe shouted happily.
After playing with Zoe for a while, Brynn continued to make breakfast.
Soon, Victoria got up and came downstairs. The three of them had breakfast together.

After breakfast, Brynn looked at Victoria and asked, “You are not from Portmare, are you? Are you here to visit your relatives
or-”
Reminded by Brynn, Victoria finally remembered her purpose of coming to Portmare. She was going to find the Divine
Doctor.
However, she couldn’t say it in front of Brynn. She was afraid that Brynn would feel that she was underestimated.
Victoria didn’t want to leave a bad impression on her future daughter–in–law, so she made an excuse. “I’m here in Portmare to visit an old friend, and I may take Zoe to see him later.”
Although Zoe’s condition was stable with Brynn’s help, just in case, she still had to continue to look for the Divine Doctor. didn’t think much of it. She nodded and started packing her things. “I made extra food last night when I was making
Brynn dinner.
“If you don’t want to order takeout for lunch, you can just heat it up.”
“Thank you so much, Brynn,” Victoria said, deeply touched. Brynn was so thoughtful and considerate, and she really wanted her as a daughter–in–law.
Zoe also waved her hand excitedly, “Hooray! I can enjoy Mom’s cooking again!”
Brynn blushed a little at their compliments. “It’s nothing. I should get to school now. Call me anytime if you need anything.” Victoria said, “Okay, go ahead. We can take care of ourselves.”
Victoria walked Brynn to the door. Once the door was closed, she returned to the living room and looked at Zoe. “You like her very much, don’t you?”
Zoe nodded quickly. “Yeah, I love Mom very much.”
Victoria smiled. She thought it was time to meet the woman who suddenly married Dominic. And if that woman didn’t truly love him, then she would offer her 15 million dollars to walk away from him.
She was sure that the woman would say yes.
