Chapter 140
When Brynn heard Josh’s invitation, she froze for a moment because going to the Blaze residence meant meeting Paul and Brenda again.
So many things had happened in the past two days that she had almost forgotten about their family reunion.
Thinking of Brenda and Josh’s previous attitudes, she felt a little conflicted. She thought, ‘Should I tell him that I’m his sister? Would it be too sudden for them to accept?‘
Seeing that Brynn had been silent for a long time, Josh thought she didn’t want to go to his house, so he quickly explained, “Mrs. Johnson, I didn’t mean anything bad. My mom wants to thank you for saving my dad last time.
As he spoke, he unconsciously lowered his head. “If it’s inconvenient for you, then forget it.”
He regretted treating Brynn so badly before. Although she didn’t mind, he knew it was inevitable that she would feel uncomfortable, and he could understand that.
Brynn saw his poor look and couldn’t bear it. She thought that instead of constantly guessing the Blaze family’s attitude towards her, it was better to see them in person so that she wouldn’t have to struggle here.
Therefore, she nodded. “What time tonight?”
Josh, who thought he was going to be rejected, was overjoyed. Afraid that she would regret it, he quickly said, “It is around six o’clock in the afternoon. Is that okay?”
It was exactly the time to get off work, so Brynn nodded. “Okay.”
Having received the desired answer, Josh happily packed his things and left the classroom. As soon as he ran out, he bumped into Jeffrey, who hadn’t had time to leave yet.
“Jeffrey?” Josh looked at him suspiciously. “What are you doing here? Were you eavesdropping on my conversation with Mrs. Johnson?”
Jeffrey wasn’t embarrassed to be found out. Instead, he put his arm around Josh’s neck like a buddy. “Dude, you are
awesome.”
He gave Josh a thumbs–up with a grin, leaving him confused.
“I thought you were a coward, but I didn’t expect you to be so bold just now, directly inviting Mrs. Johnson to your home.” Jeffrey chuckled and winked at Josh.
Josh was speechless. He thought, ‘What is he thinking?”
He wanted to explain, but Jeffrey continued, “You got this.
“You have to win her over. This way, if we fail the task, you can use your charm to get her to go easy on us.”
As Jeffrey spoke, he couldn’t help but giggle.
Josh thought he was insane.
After making an appointment with Josh, Brynn went back to the office with her books in her arms. As soon as she arrived, she ran into Gary.
Gary’s face broke into a wide smile when he saw Brynn. “Is your class over, Mrs. Johnson?”
“Yes.” Brynn nodded and put down her books. “Mr. Buckman, is there anything I can do for you?”

Gary held a thick stack of student information in his hand. He was so excited when he saw this that he didn’t even take a
break.
“Nothing much. I just came to check on you. If you need anything, please let me know. Gary smiled at Brynn with a benevolent face.
Brynn just felt that his smile was creepy.
She said, “Thank you, Mr. Buckman. I’m all good. I don’t need anything right now.”
Gary blinked. “Really? Your office looks a little old. Should I have someone renovate it for you?”
He saw Brynn as the school’s cash cow, and he felt obliged to buy her something.
However, Brynn felt that Gary was way too enthusiastic, and she couldn’t stand it.
“No need, this is fine.” Brynn chuckled dryly. “Well, I have something else to do, so I’ll have to go. With that, Brynn got up and was about to leave.
“Wait.” Gary called out to her, “Mrs. Johnson, I just remembered that there is something important I want to talk to you about. You mentioned making some changes to the school before, right?”
Hearing that, Brynn stopped and looked at him.
“I agree with you. I decided to find some sponsors and grow the school properly and to promote traditional medicine.” Gary said with a smile, “While the competition buzz is still going strong, we have to secure as much funding as we can.”
Brynn didn’t expect Gary to have such a good business sense–he actually knew how to leverage online buzz.
“That’s good, but I don’t want the school to become too commercialized.” Brynn looked at Gary seriously as she made her suggestion. “This is a place for learning, so I hope you can carefully consider how sponsorships are handled.”
She believed that no matter what, the students must never be affected.
“Absolutely.” Gary patted his chest. “That’s why I plan to seek sponsorships from those old families in Eaglemont.”
Most entrepreneurs in Portmare were profit–driven and couldn’t care less about whether the students had a promising future. However, the big names in Eaglemont were different.
They were wealthy, ambitious, and much more likely to invest.
Brynn was a little surprised to hear Gary’s idea.
She thought, ‘Getting sponsorship from the old–money families in Eaglemont takes more than just a good idea. It takes real connections and not the kind most people have. Does Mr. Buckman have any connections?‘
However, since Gary didn’t go into detail, she wouldn’t ask any more questions.
“It would be great if we could get sponsorship from Eaglemont.” Brynn nodded in agreement.
Having got Brynn’s agreement, Gary no longer hesitated. He happily left and began to make arrangements.
Brynn hesitated for a moment and stopped him. “Mr. Buckman, can I ask you about someone?”
She remembered that she came to this school just because Gary told her that it had something to do with Andrew. She thought maybe Gary knew something.
“Go ahead. If I know anything, I’ll tell you all about it.” He was genuinely pleased that Brynn finally had a request for him.

Brynn took a deep breath and asked tentatively, “Mr. Buckman, do you know a man named Eric Brown?
Gary, who had been all smiles, suddenly froze when he heard the name.
