Once they were gone, the owner finally let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding
Turning to Dominic, he understood that this person must be an important figure who had stood up for him
“Thank you so much, sir, he approached Dominic and spoke up.
But Dominic simply waved his hand. “It’s not me. I didn’t do anything. It was my wife who couldn’t stand what was happening, so she spoke up for you.”

It was clear from his words who the real reason behind all this was. The owner immediately understood. His expression brightened as he turned to Brynn, smiling warmly.
“Thank you so much, Ms. Everett. If you hadn’t spoken up for me today, I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done. Please, the next time you come, your meal is on me! Whatever you want, it’s my treat.”
Seeing the owner’s grateful yet somewhat flattering smile, Brynn couldn’t help but feel conflicted.
Everything had happened so quickly, and it ended just as fast. She still wasn’t quite sure what had just occurred, but somehow, Dominic had solved the entire problem.
But of course, she wasn’t comfortable with the idea of accepting a free meal.
“Don’t worry about the free meal. You’ve worked hard too,” Brynn said, waving her hand before turning to Dominic. “Let’s go, I’m feeling pretty full now.”
In truth, the whole ordeal had taken away her appetite.
“Alright.” Dominic agreed, gathering up the remaining items on the table, and the two of them left the restaurant.
However, as soon as they stepped outside, Brynn’s face immediately hardened as she turned to Dominic.
Dominic blinked at her sudden change in expression. “Darling, is there something you want to ask?”
“Do you think I don’t know?” Brynn fixed her gaze on him, her voice carrying a hint of interrogation. “Dominic, is there something you’re hiding from me?”
Dominic opened his mouth, but before he could speak, Brynn cut him off, her eyes narrowing. “Think carefully before you answer! Truth will set you free!”
Seeing her serious expression, Dominic couldn’t help but chuckle. He was about to speak when Brynn, with the confidence of a detective, continued her analysis.
“You’re not just some regular government employee, right? And definitely not a temporary worker,” Brynn huffed, adopting an air of a detective. “How could a temp have that much pull? You must be the…”
Her eyes locked on him, and her lips seemed ready to form the word “president.”
Dominic raised an eyebrow, realizing she’d probably already figured most of it out. He nodded, and was about to admit it.
“You’re right,” he replied, “In fact, I’m the new president…”
“Wow! Just like I guessed!” Brynn’s eyes widened as she looked at him. “You really do work in the President’s Office?”
Dominic blinked. Things weren’t going quite the way he imagined.
“If you work in the President’s Office, that explains everything!” Brynn clapped her hands, confidently piecing it all together. “So when you were messing with your phone earlier, you were actually reporting the incident to the President’s secretary, right?”
Dominic was taken aback. “Well… um…”
He hadn’t expected his wife to come up with such an elaborate theory.
“Okay, okay, you’re pretty sharp,” Brynn, thinking she was right, praised him. “Even if you’re not a full–time employee, working at the President’s Office, even as a temp, is impressive. And you just casually drop a ‘whisper in the ear, and look at the impact!”
Dominic couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore.

“So…” He leaned closer to Brynn, lowering his voice. “What about you? Can you whisper in someone’s ear too?”
Brynn immediately responded, “Of course I can-”
Then she froze, realizing what he really meant. Her face turned bright red.
