Chapter 38
Dropping that threat, Brynn ignored the stunned duo and strode forward.
The Suncrest Group’s highly anticipated annual celebration was in full swing, held at the largest hotel in Portmare.
Inside the ballroom, crystal chandeliers glittered like stars, casting a dazzling glow. A huge stage was beautifully decorated, and rows of tables were laden with gourmet food and fine wine.
Dignitaries, business partners, and employee representatives, all dressed to the nines, attended the grand event, showcasing the Suncrest Group’s impressive power.
The Portmare media and reporters, upon hearing that the President would also attend, were practically clawing each other’s eyes out for an invitation.
When Randy Everett arrived, he saw people being turned away for lack of invitations, and he couldn’t help but praise Kylie Everett, albeit sparingly.
“So many people couldn’t get an invitation, but we did. It not only shows how close Chase is with President Johnson, but it also shows how much he values you…”
“I’m happy to help you, Dad,” Kylie said with a big smile, though she felt a pang of guilt.
But seeing that other people’s invitations looked similar to the one she had bought, she couldn’t help but feel a little relieved.
“These invitations all look alike; I probably won’t get caught, right?‘ she reassured herself.
Hearing the whispers of “President” from the other socialites, Kylie straightened her back a little, basking in their envious gazes.
Those socialites secretly looked down on Kylie, but knowing her close relationship with Chase Johnson, they rushed to cozy up to her.
“Wow, Kylie, is that a limited edition couture gown? I’ve always wanted to buy from that brand, but I never could!”
“Yeah, it fits you perfectly! It suits you so well! So beautiful!”
Other socialites chimed in with praise.
Kylie was delighted, lifting her chin slightly. “My mom had this custom–made for me. I love it!”
Most of the socialites in Portmare now knew about the Everett family’s switched–at–birth scandal.
Because Brynn had always outshone them, they were all a bit jealous of her.
Naturally, they were happy to kick her when she was down.
“Kylie, only you can pull off this kind of dress. You’re the real deal, your aura puts that fake, Brynn, to shame!”
“Exactly, the real one is the real one, and the fake one is the fake one. The fake one can never compare to the real one!”
Hearing everyone’s flattery, Kylie was secretly thrilled.
See? Everyone loves me. What does that fake, Brynn, have to compete with me?’
Just as Kylie was reveling in her pride, a commotion suddenly erupted nearby, causing a big stir.

Kylie and the others were puzzled, only hearing continuous exclamations of surprise, with some even exaggerating that they had seen a goddess!
‘Who… is that?‘
Curious, Kylie followed everyone’s gaze and saw a woman of noble bearing approaching gracefully.
The woman was stunning, dressed in a gorgeous red, sequined, fishtail gown that perfectly hugged her curves, showcasing her exquisite figure.
The fishtail hem swayed gently with her steps, captivating everyone.
Her features were as delicate as a painting, her eyes exuding nobility and a cool aloofness. Her nose was high and straight, and her lips curved slightly upward, radiating a captivating charm!
The moment everyone at the entrance saw her, their eyes were glued to her, captivated by her noble aura and stunning beauty, their hearts filled with admiration and praise.
Time seemed to stand still at that moment.
Kylie, Randy, and Maris Everett were a bit farther away and couldn’t see the woman’s face clearly, only vaguely perceiving a woman of noble bearing.
“Such an aura… she must be the daughter of some big shot, right?”
Maris couldn’t help but comment to Randy Everett, having only seen a side profile.
Randy nodded in agreement. “This banquet has attracted quite a few dignitaries and nobles.”
Seeing that everyone’s attention was drawn to this suddenly appearing woman, Kylie was naturally displeased.
But beyond her annoyance, Kylie’s mind started racing.
… She looks like someone of high status. If I could befriend her, wouldn’t I be able to use her status to climb even higher?‘
Thinking this, Kylie adjusted her dress and prepared to approach the woman and greet her.
However, just as she took two steps, she heard someone suddenly exclaim in surprise.
“Holy crap! Isn’t, isn’t that the Everett family’s fake daughter, Brynn?”
