Chapter 51
Randy’s head snapped up, his eyes wide with disbelief as he stared at Brynn. He asked in a rough voice, “What did you do?”
Brynn just shrugged, a small smile playing on her lips. “I didn’t do anything. Just sent my resignation to the shareholders again.”
“You!” Randy was so mad that he was shaking all over. He was about to explode when his phone started buzzing again.
He answered it, and the voice on the other end was frantic. “Mr. Everett, it’s bad. The shareholders know Ms. Everett’s quitting. They’re selling their stocks. The stock price is plummeting, and executives are resigning. The company is in chaos. You need to get back.”
Randy’s face turned pale as he hung up. He looked at Brynn with a mix of anger and fear. “You ungrateful girl! I raised you, and this is how you repay me?”
Brynn just sneered, “Didn’t you say I’m not even part of the Everett family? So why should I be loyal to the Everett Group?”
Dominic was watching the whole thing, and he couldn’t help but feel proud of his wife.
He stepped forward, took Brynn’s hand, and said to Randy, “Mr. Everett, instead of yelling at Brynn, you should get back to the company. If you wait too long, it might not belong to you anymore.”
Thinking of the board members coveting his chairman position, Randy clenched his teeth, glared at Brynn once again, and then stormed out of the banquet hall.
Maris had only caught bits and pieces of what was happening. She turned to Kylie, panicking. “Kylie, what’s really going on with the company?”
Kylie could guess what was going on, but she didn’t want to seem weak. She tried to stay calm and comfort her mom, “Mom, don’t worry. The company will be fine. It’s probably just Brynn trying to get back at us.”
Hearing this, Maris immediately felt resentment toward Brynn.
She pointed at Brynn and shouted, “Brynn! You ungrateful girl! I raised you like my own daughter, and this is how you treat us? From today on, I disown you as my daughter!”
Before Brynn could say anything, Declan stepped in. “Security, please escort these two out. They’re disturbing the atmosphere of the party.”
Two burly security guards stepped forward, grabbed Maris and Kylie, and dragged them out of the banquet hall without hesitation.
Kylie struggled and screamed, “Let me go! you know who I am? I’m the daughter of the Everett family!”
But no one paid any attention. The heavy doors of the banquet hall closed firmly behind them.
The guests watched the drama unfold and started whispering and gossiping.
“I can’t believe how the Everett family treated Brynn,” someone said.
“Yeah, considering all that Brynn has done for the Everett Group, they’re really ungrateful,” another person echoed.
Declan, worried that Brynn might be upset, instinctively tried to comfort her, “Bry… Ms. Everett, leaving the Everett Group is a good thing. With your abilities, you can create miracles without relying on them.”
Hearing this, the other bigwigs also chimed in, “That’s right. Ms. Everett, we all believe in your abilities. If you ever need help, just let us know.”

“Ms. Everett, if you ever need funding, just come to us. We’re more sincere than the Everett Group
Brynn was a little overwhelmed by their enthusiasm and could only force a smile and thank them.

As Kylie was dragged to the door by the security guards, she looked back and saw this scene. A flash of jealousy crossed her
eyes.
She cursed in her heart, ‘Brynn, you bitch! Just you wait. I won’t let you off easily
Dominic, watching Brynn surrounded by everyone, frowned slightly and cleared his throat.
The crowd immediately realized that Dominic was feeling a bit jealous and quickly shut up and dispersed.
Dominic walked over to Brynn, put his arm around her waist, and said meaningfully, “Thanks for your concern, but my wife has other plans for her career.”
Everyone quickly nodded in agreement.
Dominic smiled contentedly, lowered his head, and said to Brynn, “Are you tired? Let’s go home.
Brynn felt something was a bit off. ‘Isn’t Dominic just an ordinary employee? But why are these bigwigs showing him so much respect?‘ she thought.
Though curious, Brynn didn’t ask too many questions. After saying goodbye to everyone, she left the banquet hall with Dominic.
Watching the two of them leave together, Declan casually said, “President Johnson’s intentions are clear, right?”
The bigwigs snapped back to reality and nodded quickly. “We understand, Mr. Harper. We know what to do.”
They thought, With President Johnson going to such lengths to introduce the First Lady to everyone, how could we not understand what this meant?
From today on, those standing behind Brynn will no longer be the Everett family. It will be the newly elected president, Dominic.’
